No Human Player "interaction"?

this mulitplayer you are talking about is a BROWSER XML DOCUMENT game :)

if so many players do exact that thing this % will change.

Browser game?

Not at all. I'm talking about Elite:Dangerous

what is it then. if so many people are doing that missions or that cargo to that station then this stations gets more powerufll.
that is the mulitplayer now.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW nope

I'm glad we agree that it's perfectly possible to play together with others, both on a small scale, and a major scale in this game.

I guess what i am trying to say here the game has no substance... All you do is fly around.

You can make money but for what? you cant spend it on any assets, as in you cant buy a base or station i mean there is literally nothing to do with your money. What buy new ships to make more money?

As of now it just makes no sense to me. You cant own anything except a ship so whats the point of grinding cash?

at this point the game in its current state is just well in laymen terms boring. And you cant do anything with your accomplishments.

If that is how you understand the game then you are not going to enjoy it i'm afraid.

There is already lots to do and see, and its not a mad rush to grind to the biggest ship unless that's what you want to do with the game.

More multiplayer functions are coming (which has been stated over and over again).

Consider the game like a box a lego. Nobody is going to say "You must build the house according to the instructions given". Yes, you can build the house, but you can also build an aeroplane, a hospital, or a giant robot. (not literally of course!).

If you are looking to own a business or property, then you need a different game, because as far as we know, that will never be implemented unless devs decide to add it in some dim and distant future. The X series of games and Eve though do... maybe they are more to your liking. I had good fun building up my empire in X2. Owned a whole sector with multiple capital ships. Then got bored because i had everything. :( Never gave X3 a good chance. Played it a little but it seemed like something was wrong with it compared with X2.

Money isn't everything.

Right now I'm 1300 LY out, naming constellations from this region of space, enjoying the sights of the galaxy. Not 2 hours ago I flew through a coronal ejection. Yesterday I found an earth like world. I've piloted through nebulae, been up above the galactic plane to look down on the plane. Travelled out to another spiral arm.

There is an immense quantity to do in this game.

Hell, I've not even bothered getting out of my cobra since I got it a few hours post launch.

I get that and I am not trying to take anything away from people who are enjoying themselves.

But did you find a new life form? new technology? a new race of people? did you get anything from your travels? or did you just see a randomly generated earth like planet scan it and move on? its like a $60 google maps. Worst part is now you are hours away from other players but i guess that doesn't really matter since it is a single player game.

I am just frustrated and venting i guess i bought the game a bit to early.

well it is easy. if you want a mmo. and mmo for me is a game where you can interact with people DIRECTLY in many sort of ways THEN you really have to wait a few months.
as a single player simulation it is quite great.
it is like dayz.
the beginning is ready. world engine npc. but till a really soul is in it, it will take half a year year

I will give you that. As a single player sim yes it is pretty nice. But i was under the impression this was an mmo :(

I've found life on 14 different planets so far.

You really are determined to say it's a single player game. Perhaps that's how you're choosing to play it. I'll be back in civilised space later today or tomorrow, and back to playing with my husband and friends. One of the beauties of Elite - it offers so many varied ways of enjoying it.

And what do I need equipped to give this a shot.

I'd suggest an advanced discovery scanner to let you find all the celestials in a system. I'd also advise a jump range of at least 15 LY (I have 17.74). And if you want to make more money on your return, fitting a detailed surface scanner will increase your revenue.

The fuel scoop is, of course, essential.

It's disgusting that FD would ever release a game like this, advertised as an MMO, with literally zero player interaction.

They are so pathetically shortsighted here.....I honestly don't know how they screwed this up so badly.

Tell you what, I'll play with my friends, you complain about how it's impossible.

Not just to see it, but to "discover" it. My discovery rank for example is aimless, I feel like I have scanned 1000 planets.

My current ship is

[Cobra Mk III]
  • Thrusters: C4
  • Shield : B4
  • Power Plant : B4
  • Sensors : A3
  • Life Support : A3
  • Power Distributor : A3
  • Burst Laser : 4x G1 Gimballed
Now the important Stuff
  • Fuel Scoop : A2
  • Advanced Discovery Scanner
  • Detailed Surface Scanner

My signature resumes the game , this is a tech demo , and is not an MMO is a MSO(Masive Singleplayer Online) and... i have 0 hope for it to change because the developers love it as it is and its made for people born in 197x who only can play 1 hour a day or 2 because they got childs and wifes.

it is a reminiscence to the old gaming style i agree. the lack of tutorials and the lack of nowadays typicall guidelines will make this game dull for a lot of younger ppl.
this isnt ment to be an linear action game with levels and all explaing interface. even learning to play the game is part of the game. they hide all the information which could kill the immersion.
your reputation is not like 3.5 anf if you do +0.5 mission it will make you level up.

just look at how much effort they put into the landing process which is meant to be a part of the game which should be enjoyable. but if you come from an modern MMO like WoW or whatever you are used to play games differently.
your frustation comes from your wrong expectations. better to inform yourself via reviews and youtube videos before you buy a game out of the blue just because the trailer looks nice.
this is more of an "art game" to me like limbo or papers please. its trying sth new or better reviving sth old.

take minecraft - there is no goal as well
the way this game wants to be is sth different, not arcadish like freelancer and if you try sth new you have to develop it over time. i cant remember playing a unique new game which was finished by its release.
ofc games from major publishes who release the third series of an already succesfull game series already have a fundation but lack creativity....starcraft 2, COD, all these "WoW-Clones"....
