Anyone come up with a macro for requesting docking permission yet?

So rather than go to the left hand panel, then move along two columns right, then scroll down one, then click on the station, then click request docking permission, then exit back out again.
Is there a way to do this faster? As a trader I am having to do this ALOT! That's ok though, but a quicker way would be great!

I use Voice Attack for several commands, including Docking Request,

here is a link to a voice pack that has hundreds of commands and responses. not free but still not expensive.

Hmm can you select directly the tab or is ther go to first tab button in shortcuts? If not then I'm really puzzled how voice attack does it.

Personally I don't like voice attack I prefer pushing keys and since I have warthog stick I have plenty of keys to make macros

Voice attack tracks which tab is active by setting conditional values when different commands are used. It's not foolproof but is a clever solution to work around the lack of direct controls to select individual panels.

How do you make macros with HOTAS?

I always leave my 'left panel' at navigation
.
My G key macro is: (interval set to 0.1 secs)
.
(open)Target panel
Next panel tab
Next panel tab
UI panel select
UI panel down
UI panel select
(close) Left UI panel

ok done that, but no joy. When I program that using the Saitek software the two buttons that say profile, and test profile are greyed out. Is this why it won't work?

I don't understand why Frontier just don't add a keyboard shortcut for requesting docking permission. Target the station and press the shortcut? BAM

So a Saitek issue not an ingame keybinding issue?
I use Logitech and Razer so have full macro capability with no issues

Sounds like you haven't installed your Saitek software properly (I did the same). Even when I did manage to decipher the Saitek installation pictograms I can't seem to use the Saitex software to create a macro which Elite: Dangerous recognises which is longer than 1 action in length - even though longer macros play out perfectly outside E: D. I'm using an X-55 Rhino, which is excellent btw...

In the end I reverted to a keyboard macro. First bind keys in-game to allow you to use the keyboard to move around the UI menus (I use the Numpad keys). Then macro these keys onto a specific key (I use the <END> key)

Another tip; make sure you return the UI panel to the same starting position (Navigate) otherwise your macro won't work the next time you try to use it. So the sequence is;

(open)Target panel
Next panel tab
Next panel tab
UI panel select
UI panel down
UI panel select
Previous panel tab
Previous panel tab
(close) Target panel

Good luck!

I'll try to convert it to an AHK macro later today, all this "immersion" voice command stuff just makes me feel uneasy.

Well I finally got it to work, sort of. When I now want to dock I hit my maco button on my Saitek and I see the target panel open up, and all the commands are given. But nothing happens. I have tried changing the timing of the macro to longer gaps, but still no

Have you tried running the macro upto each stage (selecting panel, selecting tab, selecting target etc) rather than the complete macro so you can be absolutely sure you are where you think you are at each stage?

I set a macro for the turret fire mode and had to get the pause/hold time for each button correct for the auto-repeat timer (which seems to be different for each panel/tab/menu).

Ok thanks I will give that a go later. I've spent 2 hours trying to do this and I need to stop less I hurt someone.
But I do think I'm getting there
