Best Graphical settings for DK2?

Experience so far ----

Just got my Dk2 this morning and got it working in ED thanks to the many guides posted on the forums. Loving the experience so far! However, I'm having trouble finding recommended graphical settings for the best look/experience. (example) The stars look very blurry (lots of red and blue hanging out over the 'white' edges).

I have a Nvidia GTX760 with WHQL 344.75. Using 75hz and vsync on.

I've tried oversampling technique @ 1440p and it does look better, however i'm getting a lot of stutter with it. (even get a little stutter at 1080p). Also, I'm seeing a temporary color blur when doing fast head motions. Not sure if there is a term for this last effect. Usually see a trail of blue or red usually behind an object when head twisting at a decent speed. It's like certain colors are delayed in responding to the motion.

Questions ----

1. What should my in-game graphic settings and also my nvidia control panel settings be? (screenshots are nice for this :))

2. Should nvidia control panel profile be for the ED launcher .exe or the "regular" ED .exe?

3. Is there any sort of setting/fix for the blur that happens to objects that are not in the exact center of my FOV?

I'd like to use my eyes to look around at least a little bit. As it is currently, I have to turn my head till the object I want to look is in the perfect center of my view before it comes in focus.

Thanks Commanders!

For me when I had the 760, set everything to pretty much as low as it goes. Then buy new GPU's.

The biggest thing Ive found that effects the quality of the blurry lines is HMD setup (IPD etc) and most importantly - positioning. Its amazing what having it a few mm's out from ideal will do to the quality of the image.

Definately give up on any hope of DSR/oversampling with the 760.

Turn everything to low, except Oculus Quality (the silder 2nd from bottom) and ensure you can maintain 75 fps.

Some of the blurring off eye center is caused by Chromatic Abberation and is tricky to calibrate out (if at all).

Basically - expect to give up a chunk of eye candy for uber immersion.

PS I sold my 760 and have installed the first 970, with the 2nd on order already.

Use FXAA and set Shadows to Low. Maxed out the rest of the settings and it runs pretty good with 4770K/GTX970.

No! Don't use FXAA with DK2, you don't want to blur more the image, but Sharp it! And yes, with 760 you should set at low everything, in fact, I have the 970 and setting up everything medium (I want to keep at least 75hz even in the stations-asteroids)

You're welcome.

For me I have 2 monitors as usual (with Rift OFF).
With Rift ON I have disabled the 2 monitors (unchecked their boxes) and have Rift as Primary. Also - ensure Rift is set for Externded mode.

When Rift is turned on, both monitors go off and all interaction through Rift. (Learn to put stuff on 1 side of your monitor and keep on eye closed until RIft is displaying a proper image. Still looking for a good VR desktop.)
Turn Rift off and monitors pop back into life.
I also have an nVidia 3D profile for ED set for Single Display.
Did have a custom DSR profile but deleted it.

When changing display configs about, ensure you put windows to one side of monitor display as in the rift central windows are mostly obscured. Standard windows in a Rift is akin to the eyeball olympics....

And to be honest - Optimal DK2 settings is a tricky one. There is a thread about running max settings - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=71007 read at your peril as it could cost lots of £££££'s.
The best advice for optimal is the 75fps. For me fps > eye candy. The DK2 will never look as good as monitor, but it's not about the look.

Good luck matey.
