So.... Can I get to sol if I didn't back the game????

I've read a lot of conflicting reports from a lot of people on the forum but as of yet i've seen no concrete evidence of either or, so:

  • Can I get to Sol if I didn't back the game?
  • If yes, is it locked to reputation or rank within the federation? Do you have any proof?
  • If no, why the hell not?

Pretty sure it can be earned, but not being one who climbs Federation ladders, I can't say for sure. Access to the Alliance home system was earned through rep, so I imagine Sol is the equivalent!

Sol doesn't exist. It is but a nightmare you want to forget. Nothing to see there. Just a dream. Should've demolished the place earlier to make way for the super speedway...

Who the heck wants to visit that place anyway?

Sol is a beautiful place, the cradle of human civilization - though some barbarians do not quite see the significance of our magnificent origin. And indeed, it is perfectly possible to earn a pass to go visit the hub of the Federation. A place where you can gaze in wonder at sights like these:

Though you need to sign up with the Federal Navy. It do not take much, 3 or 4 simple mission. No combat required, just delivering some messages and goods on the Federations behalf. Oh, and have a good clean record with the Federation. Got my permit just yesterday :)

When I heard we were getting permits to Sol I have to admit, I was excited... But then once I actually got there, I was like.. *using a Seinfeld voice "OK... so.. what WAS... the big deal?"

To tell you the truth... the clincher for me was arriving at Lave... now THAT really felt like home. :)

I guess we just do not realise how awesome SOL will be once planetary landings and full scale cities with extreme amounts of attention to procedural detail there is.

Funny you mention that, I was thinking about it the other day while scanning moons. This game is a perfect example of what humans would do to the galaxy if we get unleashed on it. First we would start resources and then expand like cockroaches.

I certainly understand that in this day and age Sol is but a relic of the past, but being of a particular wealth i've always wanted to go see the birthplace of man

Plus, dude, like, jupiter. Jupiter's rad.

Why do you think alien civilizations have been carefully hiding from CETI?... They know very well what massive disasters we are capable of generating.
If Fenician stories are true, then we're the creation of reptilian races, this explains our reptilian Medula Oblongata... which is the birthplace of all the evil things humanity has done.

Just imagine the moral strife those poor creatures must be going through. They made a race of semi-intelligent creatures, half them, half what was here. Now they realise we are just so close to becoming like them, but can't make that last step due to our earthlikeness side of our being. We are too brutal, and all the modles they made over the millions of years failed to remove that one flaw we will always carry... our humanity.

You can look up the the plans for it in the bottom of the Vogon Construction Fleets vault in alpha centauri if you don't believe me!!!

I have earned a permit in game, all I did was complete some missions for the Feds.

Will get around to visiting at some point soon, but need to do dome war profiteering first...
