5mil credits bounty hunting, endless fun!

That's how many credits I've earned as a bounty hunter, so far.

I average around 100k-300k (I run out of ammo) each time I drop into a Nav Point or Resource Extraction site. It takes about 15 minutes (sometimes more/less) to run out of multi-cannon bullets, then I can go to another system, check it out and then drop into one of the previously mentioned areas for more credits.

I started in a Sidey and now my Cobra is close to fully kitted out. It's great fun.

What's my point? It is possible, with pew pew, to make decent credits AND have fun doing it! I'm not saying exploring, mining and trading aren't fun, I just am having too much fun killing baddies to delve deeper into those yet. :D

Christmas is over (kinda). The four kids are all happily playing with their presents, the Mrs. is happy (even let me do a little docking practice ;) ) and today (fingers crossed) Dad gets to relax and put more than an hour at a time into ED. Good times my friends, good times :D

I'm in about the same place you are, I have slightly over 5m assets to my name now. What bothers me is traders are capable of making that much money per hour.

So? :D There does need to be more, harder/lucrative BH stuff but, I'm in no race with traders.

5mil/hr is with a Type9. But the whole problem isn't the lack of money for combat, it's the lack of progression. Trading has a clear progression, you buy a bigger ship with more cargo, you move more goods, you get more profits. Bounty hunting doesn't work like that, because it pays so little and if you do decide to ugprade to a bigger ship, the repair/re-arm costs start to really take their toll.

That's why Pythons and Anacondas are actually quite useless in the current game. ASP is better for exploring, Type 9 is better for trading, Cobra/ASP/Viper is better for bounty hunting. Conflict zones don't pay anything.

Yeah, definitely possible to buy and equip your ship with 100% bounty hunting (And a few missions, maybe). Only issue: you won't be able to make any further progress, once your Cobra is fully equiped. Now, money is useless to you :) (Unless you want to buy a Viper and switch between both ships, or buy several ships for different kinds of targets :) )

Bounty Hunting only lacks variety in ships. Otherwise, it's just plain fun and self-sufficient :)

Problem with those zones, that if you shoot the same faction as the LAW, they going to shoot at you.
To me this was happening, and a fellow player started to help the LAW and shot me too. I killd the fellow player and got 6k bounty............... Another player shot me, but he, thx god left the navpoint. i didnt wanted to get more bounty, so i left too, and paid the fee. Its so bad, that LAW protecting WANTED, and making you enemy too...

With four kids in tow it sounds to me you like you don't need any docking practice :)

Sounds great.

How's your reputation going? Are the bounties compensate for the attacks or did your raised/dropped with certain factions?

I've learned to "select" my targets, depending on who I want to be friends with. I'm friendly with several factions as a result and always let the "green" guys get a free pass.

Are you having fun doing what you're doing in the game? If the answer is yes then keep doing it. If the answer is no, then study up with the you tube videos and start doing something else.

I've not had more than 40kcr at anyone time since I've started this game. Still I amhaving a lot of fun. I maqnaged to work my way into a Viper. It's only slightly better than stock but I don't fear interdictions like I used to. I have enough confidence to stop and make them wish they nevr stopped me just 5ls away from my destination....or I scamper away really fast if it's something I can't handle.

I don't make much cash and when ever I do I have an upgrade waiting for me install. Right now, I'm thinking of dumping my cargo hold altogether and installing my on interdictor and a warrent scanner. Just gotta save up and buy them. thyere's always something to buy for the ship.

I don't care how much you all are making or what you're flying. As long as I'm enjoying myself and you're all doing the same it's all good.

Ok, thanks.

And did you got unfriendly or hostile with others?

Temporarily (while at the combat point) but, not permanently as with the green friendly factions.

Here's what I do:

I look at the system factions to see who's the "controlling faction' and decide if I want to be friendly with them. if I do, I check contacts before engaging and leave them alone if they belong to that faction. This leaves me free to engage all other factions. Since I'm only concerned with the "controlling faction" i.e. the system authorities, the negative rep get divided among the various faction victims, which means my faction of choice will most likely turn green before the others turn red (except during combat).

I could be wrong but, it seems to work.

The issue with the "lack of progression" argument is, that just hauling even more cargo is not progression in itself. Its plain grind for no reason than to brag about a bigger ship and larger profit per hour.

The good thing is, that in E : D you can have just as great fun staying in the Cobra hunting pirates if that fancies you. There is NO need to "progress" further if what you want is having fun blasting your multi-cannons.

And if it tickles your fancy to haul even more cargo and pay billions per upgrade. Sure - go ahead!

E : D fortunately has room for us all
