Bountyhunters Paradise

Hello everyone.

Im CMDR Ray Nova and i earn my living with bounty hunting. What i like about this profession is to fly around in a system scanning targets, hunting them down, pulling the out of supercruise and show them it was a bad idea breaking the law. it gets even sweeter when they are able to jump only to see me next to them when they arrive in the next system.

the last week or so i had a good run in Potriti (federation) with some very nice pythons, a few annacondas and a nasty clipper who bit back hard. sadly this streak seems to be drying up and so i wondered.
is there any faction ingame where criminals feel safe and local law enforcement isnt that good?

for example in hutt space (star wars) the laws of the republic seemed a bit powerless, that kind of stuff is what im looking for...

But maybe im all wrong and criminals are found equally everywhere...

Get yourself to an Anarchy system and scan everyone at a Nav-beacon with a KWS.

You'll rake it in.

one system, LP 98-172. That is all you need to know. Actually all anarchy systems are infested with pirates and there are no authorities, plus you don't get a bounty for accidentally shooting someone because there is no law.

thanks for the intel. but with what faction will i gain the bounty?

or will they be universaly claimable in all faction terretories?

If you scan them with a KWS, when you pop them you'll get all bounties they are out for, it's not unusual for one target to offer bounties in several different factions after scanning.

That's the only problem about bounty hunting in Anarchy zones. You get bounties in not only the Federation, but Alliance and Empire as well.

I flew from my starting area (LHS 3447) 80+LY to where I'm at now due to the two anarchy systems close to each other that are supposed to be the best bounty hunting areas. However, I currently have almost 90k in bounties to turn into the Empire, but the nearest Empire station is 60LY away, and I'm not too thrilled about another long trip in my little Eagle.

So, for the time being, I went back to Federation space for easy-to-turn-in bounty vouchers.

one last thing... isnt anarchy terretory pretty much free for all space? meaning that some other player could just jump on me and knock me out without hesitating....

Yep. Free-for-all with no worries about getting fines or "wanted" status.

I wonder if I buy a different ship, will my Empire bounties transfer over to that ship (for easier traveling), or do I have to take this ship to an Empire station to collect?

Bounties will carry across to your new ship.

I bounty hunt as well. The only problem lately has been the NPC's almost always jump and it's as soon as you get them down to almost destroyed. I understand it would be realistic for them to try and bug out but I've specifically targeted their drives and power plants so is this a bug or just plain unrealistic?

target their power distribution.
or save some energy for the final run , then you get them before they jump.
else get a wake scanner , but be aware in the next system your kill might not be legal!

This is not entirely correct - bounties do transfer if you replace your current ship with a new one, but they don't transfer if you buy a new ship in addition to your current one and switch to that new ship.

I have been bounty hunting in fed space and its a pretty good stream at the Nav point. Can anyone tell me, when I scan and see a wanted criminal it also shows their allegiance and corp etc. do I lose standing/rep with that corp still for killing one if their own, even if they are wanted? I am trying to keep my fed rating out of hostile so I hope killing fed criminals isn't counterproductive

Just be careful in Potriti which is also my favourite hunting ground. Be aware that it's a Federation system (Hartfield Plant is a Federation Outpost). Only Tuan Orbital is an Anarchy Outpost. So I guess if you attack a Clean Commander you will get a bounty on your head.
Good hunting Ray Nova. Maybe we'll meet there one day. :)

This is happening to me and many other people as well. NPCs don't seem to be affected by mass lock whatsoever. They also can jump with their hardpoints deployed. I'm chalking it up as a bug because it makes no sense for players to be affected by them with mass lock while they can charge up their FSD and jump away like nothing happened when I'm less than 100m behind them in a Viper.

I've been bounty hunting in Barnard's Star and Alpha Centauri for days now. If they're wanted I shoot them. Plain and simple. I actually found out in a matter of days that I went from neutral to allied with the Federation and all other minor factions in Sol, while I'm slowly becoming allied with other factions in the other 2 systems among other Federation systems. Seems to me that bounty hunting wanted ships regardless of faction is helping my standing with said factions quite a bit...except for like 1 or 2. They have remained neutral.
