Lol, I just thought, you said you didn't have enough cash for a full rebuy, but you had 1.6 mill right? Well in that case you wouldn't of been back to a sidewinder anyway as with that money, even if you couldn't buy back a lower spec'd type 7 you could of bought an intermediate ship & had loads of cash spare!

Great story, similar thing happened to me, I was only in a measly Cobra that I had just bought and was hauling 300KCr of Berylium but still, when the windscreen goes and and you're still being shot at and need to get to the station before you die it's horrific! Like what's been said, when you put so much time and effort into building up assets and a lot is on the line it puts you on edge! I know sometimes the slow going profiteering can be annoying but it adds to the realism and makes you respect the game all the more.
We need fighter escorts in this game that you can switch over to control if in your big truck and getting attacked

I run my Type 7 with no shield, simply because it allows for maximum cargo space.
Little tip to the OP, you're far better off not fighting interdictions. Just throttle down to 0 and submit, and then throttle back up to full and hit your boosters the second you come out of SC. If you're in a type 7 your FSD cooldown will be about 10 seconds when you submit, and short of getting interdicted by an Anaconda that can mass disrupt even a type 7 from 3km away nothing can stop you from getting back into SC before they can seriously hurt you.

yep, it's like hours of monotonous gameplay, followed by moments of sheer terror!
Didn't see them coming, as interdictions don't happen that often, I was just flying fat and dumb.
