Trading appears to be still broken...Thoughts?

Morning everyone,

So, me and the band of miscreants have been testing the trading market since they applied the server side fix before Christmas and can say that trading appears to still be broken...

Alot of my friends like to trade and do nothing else and sometimes play solo and not in the group - however it just seems to be difficult to make any real money from doing the thing they love to do.

The supply and demand price changes appear to be broken... it would take 2 runs of Gold, as an example to start to make a loss on the trade route.

Has anyone else seen this?

Im not talking about rares here, they are not on the table - Im talking about full bread and butter trading...

On my route prices and demand are very stable since I found the route (4 days)... In fact they almost stay unchanged ... i.e. No matter how much I buy the supply of palladium stays at 2044... for several days now...

With a number of players reporting that trading is working well now, I imagine you're going to need to present a lot more information than this.

What systems, what commodities, what types of systems are they, how are the commodity values changing over time?

Your post is a touch vague on detail.

not in my experience, i've been plying the same trade route all week and can still make 1.5 - 2 million an hour in a type 7, if trading was that broken i should have seen my profits take a nose dive by now.

it could just be that the trade route you were on is listed in one of the many trading applications out there and so gets ground down very quickly but a large amount of players using it.

I can't say I've seen trading "broken" over all. Tiny/small markets are quickly saturated of course, but the large ones with high demand/supply seem to be solid. I've been continuously running the same set of trade routes since the patch with no issues.

Seems ok to me aswell. Gold is one of those items that isn't likely traded in huge quantities, therefore, maybe you over saturated?

The reason the profits are bad is because you have milked that trade run. Try going to systems where players don't go. I see high demands and high supplies in out the way systems or where the station is a long distance from star.

Once you have made 100 billion then what? Enjoy your game now.

Clearly nobody commenting on this thread has read my post on the "bugs" thread that I linked to.
I've listed commodities, systems and even pointed out that *nobody* is visiting these systems other than me, yet still MILLIONS of demand turns into MILLIONS of supply at the same station within an hour........and vice versa......A station that had MILLIONS of fruit-and-veg 15 minutes ago now has NONE......

I'm 100% sure that trading is completely and utterly broken.

*nobody* just means players - not NPC. Although I agree it seems to be a weird behaviour, you are never alone in one system.

In my opinion trading is still broken, because I have run between Styx and Aulin for days and the stock didnt decrease. Every time I come back to Styx the amound of the goods are allways the same even I have shipped x 1000t of them. If I buy 1% of the stock at once the price does not change after transaction - ticked!

No problem for me either, my corner of the galaxy seems fine and stable.
I don't have many Hi demand/Hi supply items but still make a reasonable amount per run and the profits don't change much.
.
The fact that some systems appear broken with wild swings while many others seem fine, seems to point towards the market in those systems being bugged not the actual trading mechanic

I suspect this is what we are seeing, we mostly are around the Anahit / Cernobog system which is in Empire Deep space and are seeing some very odd trading mechanics, like supply becoming demand as Cozmicdad is experiencing.

I'm not a fan of how a station with medium demand pays for less than the GA. Unless I'm missing something I'm inclined to believe it's still got a few kinks in it.

I have no problems trading gold at 1400 cr profit per ton. Takes ages for supply to dry - then switch to another station in system. Not broke for me.

Still seeing weirdness occasionally, but it is massively improved over what it had been earlier. Things mostly make sense now.
