BIG TRADING THREAD

ATM i do trading runs with an average of 140.000 Cr (112 Tons Gold and 112 Tons Bio on the way back) per run - at 6 runs per hour. So i do about 880.000 Cr per hour. It's okay, but not great. The biggest problem is: Where the hell i get platinum? With gold i do maximal 1.100 profit per ton, this is too less.

Whats your profit / profit per hour?

Does someone knowes a platinum source?

Thanks!

No to the platinum source (visited 71 stations)

trading in 25 mns

Imperial slaves 1475Cr per tonne 112T 165,200Cr
Bertrandite 636 Cr per tonne 71232Cr
Beryllium 1400Ct per tonne 156800Cr
Progenitor Cells 734 per tonne 82208

total 475440

so in an hour I'm over 1Million creds

I can give you one tip.. If you do play in Solo mode (because i dont know how its like in Open Mode), Sell your Shield generator, buy additional cargo, i did this from the very beginning, i'm sitting in a Type 7 by now, traded about 40 million credits, i wasnt killed even a single time

Well, no one would easily reveal their trade routes.. its obvious - the Demand would go down if everybody knew where to trade.. all i can say i have found routes which give between 2200 - 3000 credits, it also depends on how far you are willing to jump, and how far your ship actually can jump, Jump range also means more money - "Trade Route Exploration" is also part of the process.. ;)

Imperial Clipper (Shieldless) 240T

Tobacco one way, Marine Equipment return route, 30LY 1100 credits per T on each trip. Half a million credits for 20 minutes work.

Thanks Sorina,
Sure i play in Solo mode, i know that greedy pirates^^

But there are routes, where you can make 2-3k profit per ton? I mean, 2 systems or a real route?

On my route I make 1500 cr per T to a system 5 jumps away and make 1350 cr per T on the way back.
I have 216 T cargo space
Takes abour 15 minutes per round.
So that's almost 2.5 mil per hour..
It's boring though so every now and then I jump into my Cobra and hunt something or do missions..

all four are "large" and or "wealthy" stations

I happened on the slaves as I didn't like my route as it was as I had to do a 4000 LS run inside a system empty of cargo to get the bertrandite so did an explore of industrial systems planning on adding a 5th station after I had sold my slaves to get the beryllium

The system I went to bought slaves at a higher price and sold bertrandite at a lower price so I was very happy :)

Its all about looking around and maximising profits

I go High tech - agri - extraction - refinery

And look around for the best runs in that area

+1 for you for not being a a full space trucker 3300, open play is only for the elite and you sir well thats why i gave you +1 rep

Strange thing with OPEN is that it doesn't feel dangerous at all. I fly around with a Clipper that has no shields, all I see are CMDR's in Haulers, Sidewinders, and the occasional Cobra & Viper. Everyones clean and going about there business. Used to get interdicted all the time in SOLO

I guess it will change in a few months when more people have anaconda's & Pythons.

i once had 2 systems, 4 Jumps (for me) away from one another, it gave about 3k credits Profit when i sold the goodsin both stations, right now i have one with 1 Jump, 2500 credits, its no real route just jumping forth and back, i just try to take the shortest way so save time. and as a tip, the Imperial Clipper can have even more Cargo yes, but its a bad trade ship when you consider its jump range, you also have to think about this: Is my current Route still making good profit when i have to make 1 - 2 Jumps more when i'm sitting in a new ship? This is what i do when trading: Reduce the Mass of the ship as good as possible, downgrade all equipment when the result is less weight, get a A type FSD and all Cargo you can get

It is possible that i was also somewhat lucky until now - it is possible that i cant get away from a cobra when im interdicted i'm not sure, the fastest ones that ever interdicted me were Sidewinders and they were no Problem (They manage to hit me in a type 7 about 1 - 2 times and thats it), just hit boost like crazy to get away and then jump away, your only real enemy is your own dumbness - That means crashing into the station (Which does more or less rarely result in death) or even far worse, forget to ask for Docking permission and get shot xD

I once activated silent running and was wondering why my ship is overheating so extremly fast, i was in Panic hitted every key i did before, and what happened? I dropped cargo worth 3 million credits, got a Bounty for dropping that stuff right next to the station - As not all the cargo was delpoyed once, i hoped exiting the game as fast as possible would stop it, but i was wrong, everything was gone :D

Hahaha i know exactly what you mean!

But i just need a better route, with 1m+ profit per hour. I hate my Type-6 Transporter with only 112 cargo!

I don't worry too much about the Jump range on my Clipper, it does 15LY with 240T of cargo, that's fine with me. On Long haul rare trade routes I have always done 14LY hops, even in My T7 with a 22LY jump range.

Gold 1409cr per ton @ 232 tons = 326,888cr
Advanced Catalysers @ 861cr per ton = 199,752

= 526,640cr per 12 mins if I'm fast and paying attention instead of reading forums, smoking, drinking etc

= 2,633,200cr every hour. (or 2,106,560cr per hour if I'm being realistic about it, not paying attention much etc)

Another tip.. as i didnt know that either for quite some time (maybe i was just dumb, whatever) it seems that the markets of every station in a single system are not always shared, even if the stations are from the same faction, so its worth checking every station in a system (i usually only check the large stations because with a type 7 and bigger you only can use large landing pads)

This is why a lot of people have had problems with the galaxy map - stating that the commodity map says there is for instance indite being exported and the agricultural station they go to has none.

If you search the outposts one of them usually has it

You can get 240T out of your Clipper with an A3 shield, more than enough to cover small letterbox / landing pad collissions and scratches with no hull damage, and prolly some minor combat as well. I suppose you are using a fuel scoop instead of the shield eh?

There are currently plenty of 2200 - 2500 cr/t - 1 jump routes in high population systems if you look around a bit.
And I bet there are even higher profit routes out there if you do some extensive research.

Yesterday I found a 2425 cr route with both stations (big landing pads) just 50 - 60Ls from their suns, and just 6 LY jump between the systems (very low fuel cost / no wasted time scooping if you are flying an expensive ship), 1311cr one way and 1114 cr/T on the way back, so I stopped my search there and have been trading a bit since, and I had only checked the markets of 2 other systems before this one, that's why I think there must be even higher profit routes available right now.

There seem to be at least 250 CMDRs on this route (though I've only personally met one or 2 of em in space / stations so far haha), according to the stations' traffic reports, but the prices are keeping ok for now, cause of the high population in these systems I suppose.

It's a hard and long and lucky way to go... I'm sure you easely find ONE way which gives out a 1k+ per ton... often it's Gold, marine equipement... all that expensive stuff!! After a while of searching buying and selling, you'll find a way forth and back... the best I found was 1k+/ton upways, and 'only' 300cr/ton backways... both one jump each other, only 11ls from the star both, so not much time consuming. Best would be to find more than 2 points, each 1k+/ton, that would be nice, but I coudn't found any yet ^^

gl commander!
