Elite: Dangerous - Back to work - Sidewinder Papercraft

After spending a week in space, (Piloting my favorite little Sidewinder) I returned to Earth to go back to work. Unfortunately I was disturbed by the lack of Elite: Dangerous at work... But I did have MS Paint, a printer, a pair of scissors, some glue and a lunch hour to kill. This is the fruit of my labor.

Most pilots start their careers in the Sidewinder Mk.I. It is a classic ship design that has been in use (in various configurations) since 2982. Its original design was a light support ship and it lacked jump capability. Modern compact drives have enabled jump-capable versions to be created, making this a useful all rounder. Some navies still use these ships as fighters and patrol craft. (And now Papercraft!)

For those who want to make their own Sidewinder Mk. I. Here's my MS PAINT doodles: (Feel free to give them your own custom paint job and show 'em off! Share them with your friends!)

Have Fun Commander!

Very nice. To all the folks that don't get it when we say use your imagination, this is a little peek inside the minds of us 80s kids that loved Elite.

That's really cool! +1 rep
I wonder since a time if a good 3D model exist for 3D printing. So I could print it and paint it and have a DIY model.

You should make designs for other ships too =D I want one of each ship to hang on my celing fan and spin at high speeds like they're flying.
I think my cats might not appreciate that though.

Thank you all for the kind words! And I love the ceiling fan Idea.

I made a few more today and started to "gift" them to my fellow coworkers. :D
