Jump to the outskirts as an option

I know the FSD fiction is built around jumping to the largest point of mass in the system & it was smart marketing to make the lovely stellar models so front & centre... But I had to do the flight from Gliese b to L4337 (about a 10 minute flight between the two system stars) ... At a certain point you can start to take in the geography of the planets in relation to the star - it also gives a decent sense of scale compared to the close range jump.

It's what FE2 & FFE did obviously too.

Can we have this system insertion point back as an option in the future please

I think the main reason why they won't do this is that it allows people to sneak into systems without risk of detection, and reduces the likelihood of interdiction. FD don't really want this to happen, space is realistically big and that's great but they feel they have to add a few features that create bottlenecks to ensure you can't effortlessly hide.

This would negate the risk vs reward danger of being interdicted between destinations. No.

Super cruise & system entry makes you stand out anyway and ripe for some diction. If the plan was to use nav beacons & you had one inner & one outer they would fix that issue too.

As it stands no one is around when you jump close to the body anyway - only if you fly to the nab point.

Still risk. Still reward. Yes

Well I do also like seeing the view of the system from an oblique angle as you approach it in somewhere like LH3447, or indeed a singular star system. But I like to think that is a special little perk for those of us smart enough to get out of the ecliptic plane while super cruising.

Yeah I see the merit of the bottle neck but if we jump to the Nav beacon this would still achieve this .

I liked it in the 5 systems alpha when you'd get interdicted close to the planets - seems a more likely place for bottle neck as you enter planetary traffic closer to your destination

I think it has the potential to reach a wider audience

This all sound like a lazy mode to me. A easy fix for you. Find station that are close to the star. If you want to know how close a station is to a star. go into system map. Click the nearest Planet and check how many days it take to rotate around the Main star. If it too far Then don't go there.

It was more of a sight seeing / cool visuals being wasted thing for me champ .

You sound like lazy mode. That's what your mum tells me anyway. You should call her
