Adjustable Gun Harmonization (Convergence) for Fixed Weapons

Simply put, can we have it?
I don't see a reason why we can't adjust the convergence of our fixed weapons to the distance we want to.

EDIT: As an example, try fitting two fixed lasers on your Cobra and hitting something with both at the same time. It might be just me but I usually end up one laser hitting and one shooting into the void :p

I would like to see this implemented in a "ship tuning" overall feature, where you can do things like adjust optimal turning rates, engine velocity curves, etc. as that would make gameplay far more dynamic. Weapon convergence would be great, but should only be changed during docking and not on the fly, as there would be far too much potential for exploitation in realtime via scripting, etc.

Considering that you could set gun convergence on WWI biplanes, I was actually quite surprised that this wasn't included. I would add that you should be able to change them on the fly, since they're still forward firing and they're still something that would have to be changed manually. Gimballed weapons would still have their place, but it would offer some ability for people that like fixed weapons that can actually hit more than one at a time...

..AND because chaff renders gimballed weapons useless. Fixed are the way to go in that situation. Adjustable convergence would level the playing field a bit.

They should pre-adjust wide-set hardpoints IMO. The Cobra and the Imperial Clipper are good examples where the outer hard points should be angled inward a few degrees, so the ship can focus fire on a single point.

I'm tending to agree here. Fixed weapons on a Cobra (especially on the lower hardpoints) are badly crippled against smaller ships (at best one weapon helps by aiming off-target slightly). I would expect to benefit from fixed weapons over gimballed and only be penalized for my poor aim.

Sure, but at which distance? Do you suggest these hard points should have a slight degree of gimballing on the horizontal axis to automatically adjust convergence on the current target?
