What is the most you've been paid for exploration data of a system?

About 30k and I think it was a system that was already populated by a major faction. I ain't no explorer though.

My record is 86,483 which I got paid for the Aakuagsakh system. I have a detailed surface scanner by the way.

Found quite a lot of systems with high metallic planets on that trip, made >600K (and spent 465K on W&T).

With just a basic discovery scanner? About 7000 credits, IIRC.

This is around my max with the basic discovery scanner. I think it was 7823 or some such as a regular thing. I did have one random one at the end of Beta that gave me 23k. Was a huge system though, trinary with lots of planets.

I get about 11k+ on a regular basis in larger systems (two or three stars, a bunch of belt clusters, a small handful of planets - none Earth-like -, a dozen moons or so), with just the basic discovery scanner. I think the highest was about 15k.

Around 110k for a detailed scan of 15 stellars (incl 3 black holes) and some planets in a HIP-System (was befor the ballance patch)

Made 160k with a detailed surface scanner for one system out towards the Pleiades nebula, think it had something like 3 stars, 8 high metal planets (anyone notice that high metal content and metal rich seem to be interchangeable in the descriptions?) and 2 gas giants. Didn't bother scanning anything that looked like an icy planet.

96k or so with a detailed surface scanner from a system with an Earth-like planet and several metal rich planets.

I was wondering about the whole exploration aspect of the game; it appears that in due time this is going to be completely pointless for new players if there isn't some kind of 'decay' associated with the data retrieved.

Only one person can be the first, and after that it's rather pointless to go out and scan... and while there's a lot of systems, the ones closest to the 500 LY starting zone will obviously be overscanned, and the ones furthest out probably never scanned at all. So unless there's a decay in the scans made by previous players, it's going to be very hard for players joining at later dates to find anything worthwhile.

Has any dev commented on this system?
