Anaconda

Seems at the moment; the main goal of the game is to stack credits and buy an anaconda. But since its no really the best ship for anything, what is there to do once you get one?
The only thing it seems useful for is blockading the entrance to space stations.

anaconda is a terrible ship, I don't think most informed people want it. Its not good for any role and costs huge amounts to maintain. The best ship in the game is the python.

My main goal is to become a Fleet Admiral for the Empire, I'm kind of hoping they'll give me an Interdictor as a pressie ....:D

The game isn't a progression or levelling game. :) The main goal of the game is to 'live' in the game's galaxy, survive and forge your own goals.

The Anaconda is a great warship, try taking it bounty hunting, pirating, or pirate pirating. Go find some conflict zones with it. And yes try and blockade a station...why not. :)

Within a few days, I've gone from the Cobra that I just don't "feel" as being for me, to my main Viper, and today, spent most of the day in a newly bought Eagle for fun. I must be playing the game wrong, I don't want anything to do with an Anaconda unless it's a bounty voucher.

You're only playing it wrong if I am also playing it wrong. I've spent the past 3 months or so flying around in nothing bigger than a Cobra, and had zero interesting in changing that. :D

I think a lot of players are going to need a perspective shift to enjoy this game. You're not leveling up, there is no end game. Do what you want, pick the best tool to do it, and have fun.

If you play this with a progression mindset, you're going to burn out very quickly.

Asp will pitch 180' in a few seconds with a boost. Pitches faster than my kitted viper.

What is the weight of your viper?

Edit: Anyway, the strength of the viper is in the thrusters. You don't really need to pitch that much when you're orbiting a bigger ship.

I flew one in premium beta and enjoyed it - but that was before a lot of changes to the weapons and modules in the game that I would quite like to experiment with on the big snake. I wouldn't mind getting one and trying to kit it as a light warship but I'd hardly call it a "main goal"
