Need to default the engine speed to 0 when arriving at stations...

I went to help my wife for a sec, just as I warped into a station...and I crashed into it and blew up! I lost my new Cobra full of gold. :( I forgot to turn off my engine...and they should default it at 0 when arriving. I always boost to the station, and use thrusters anyway, and have had several close calls. I talked the salesman into giving back my Adder, since I had no more money for cargo.

Nah they shouldn't default it, you just need to be more careful ;)

I either don't play games if I know my girlfriend might need something, or I tell her I'll be gaming so she'll need to be prepared to wait a couple secs at any given moment. she understands, and I'm more than happy to help her for her patience with me.

On the other hand, they simply wait for us to do something we enjoy (like computer games) and THEN they want us for milions of small things that REALLY dont have to be done right now!

Dont kid yourselves, gentleman, its a fight for power. A fight most of us have already lost...

Nah they shouldn't. You made a bad decision by not zeroing your own throttle when you went afk. Take your licks like a commander! Not some second rate ensign or snivelling red-shirt wearer!

You can also quit the game at any time without losing anything and come back later if you have to go afk. It is pretty effective for stopping bad things happening when you're not there.

Your engines after dropping out of supercruise default to whatever you had set when you triggered the disengage. If you turn your throttle to zero the instant before triggering disengage, you'll be throttled to zero once you arrive as well.

It works beautifully the other way around as well - throttle engines to zero before entering supercruise, use the booster to give your ship the speed it needs to enter supercruise, and you'll find yourself in supercruise at zero throttle. Very useful for scouring those mind-numbingly boring USS without moving far from your starting point.

there is no need to speed adjustment.

but there is a need to not changing text colour since i can't read "white on white".

nope you need to learn to fly better and cut your engines when required

You're right! Live and learn, and scrape back from nothing if you have to. I took my red shirt off...so I'm good now. :)

If you Log off to the game Main menu or exit out of the game problem solved. Because your not in the game. Or dock or have a button that set all your control to 0

I have a very simple rule in EvE online: if it isn't of critical importance, it can wait the 5 minutes it takes to find a safe and cloak or just log off. if it is of critical, "house is burning down" etc. importance, I didn't need that ship anyways.
It translates fairly well here.
