I'm sick of Durius!!!

The durius conflict is fun and all, but I hate that if i Hyperdrive out for outfitting, or for visiting an EMPIRE station for bulletin board, I'm doomed upon returning to the system to supercruising 250,000Ls to the nearest station all over again! This takes like 5-10 minutes (can't remember but it's long) and is quite annoying.

Are there other active warring systems with a lot of players in them I can abandon this system for? I don't see all that many players here in Durius as it is. I haven't seen anything else on galnet unfortunately.

Check out Ho Hsi, Barnard's Star, LHS 1914, systems around Alioth, Kappa Fornacis.

There's plenty of conflict zones out there. :)

Thanks!

I'm hitting the galaxy map now!

EDIT: After looking, I guess I should specify that I'm Empire faction. Anywhere for the heartless imperialist to make their mark in the galaxy?

Come over to Buricasses, it's near Durius I think and the Citizens of Tradition are fighting against those dirty plebs of the Durius Dominion there as well. It's very close to the star you port into, and the combat zones are right next to an Imperial starport. What more would you need ;)?

I'll be heading there, need some place to get my conflict credits.

Is there anyway to use conflict zones to gain rep?

I'm pretty sure I lost rep with the Mining Faction and my overall Empire reputation when I sided with the Liberals of Sorbago, but I couldn't tell you for sure if gaining reputation is apparent from combat bonds.

Make sure you're getting them from the Faction you want rep with, rather than the opposing one. I know the actual bond allows you to kill anyone in a warzone, but the Faction you Accept a contract with is the Faction you get Reputation with.

I've noticed my Reputation with the Citizens of Tradition & the Empire starts to uptrend whenever I hand in a Combat Bond for them at Buricasses, so I assume it does help improve rep, yes.

Does this make any sense, by the way?

I hope this got changed, some day. Accepting a mission from an involved faction should auto-select this faction in the conflict zone! (In contast to this, accepting a war mission from an unrelated faction that only wants to benefit from heating up the conflict should be free in choice.)

Excellent! Another good reason for me to stick with Durius! The more people get put off by the 5 minute flight, the more influence my actions have! I saw my faction's influence go up a few percent yesterday, and I was the only player I saw for a long time...

Happy New Year folks!

because we cant tip systems yet, we have been able to flip stations, but the feeling that not everything is implemented, means that really until the devs get it working properly and someone manages to shift influence and system ownership, That we are better off exploring and moving around to explore th game world

durius was larger and closer to a starter system so the devs gave ti a push, theres almost 50 other conflicts that arent advertised yet, as of yet no systems have changed hands though

Thanks!

C'mere. I'll give you some hostility, you imperialist dog.

A lover, not a fighter. Well, a fighter too, so don't get any ideas.

I've timed my travel from the jump in point at Durius and I always get just a tad under 15 minutes. Either some of you are vastly underestimating your travel time or my Cobra is really slow. Do different ships/masses supercruise at different max speeds?

Anyway, I'm getting bored with Durius too, because of that long travel time. I know there are some out there who will always argue for making things more tedious in games like these, under the guise of realism, blah blah. In reality, I have precious little time when it comes to games and I'd like to be able to maximize my game time. Sitting in the cockpit doing nothing for 15 minutes, or surfing the web while the game is running(hope I don't get interdicted) should be a blatant sign of poor game design. Yes, we know how big this game universe you have created for us is. No need to rub our noses in it. In my opinion, if another star in a system is, say 50,000Ls or more away from the A star(totally arbitrary), you should be able to hyperspace to that star once you are in that main system. Trust me, I know I'm not the first to suggest this, I'm just repeating it. I really don't think that is too much of a concession to the overall game design. I hope FD is considering this.

Anyway, off to Buricasses for me. I hope the war is waiting for me.
