WHY? Why are you carrying "Grain"?

Can you see Blackbeard randomly attacking ships rather that targeting the those with valuable cargo?

"Wonderful, just what we need, more coconuts!"

I'm guessing it wasn't a nice big rich ship you targeted, just an unarmed hauler, maybe? Real Pirates can smell gold and ignore the little fish.

He has already said he only picks one haulers.

Why is it any of your business what another person carries?

Isn't the 'real' question "Why are you not carrying something that I value, that I can steal from you?"

Makes sense - the Hauler has only one small hardpoint and taking on anything bigger wouldn't make sense from a risk/reward point of view. I don't know what Cmdr Cheknov uses, but I bet it doesn't have a very big cargo hold.

OK, so ill pulled this guy over, immidiatly asked for 12 cargo and if he complied we would leave the instance safe and sound. needless to say for some reson he refused and started to run, so i start my attack trageting his cargo hatch "getting really goo at that BTW" so no need for a hatch breaker and cluttering up my cargo hold with limpets and proceed to take his cargo hatch out, stuff stats pouring out and im thinking to myself mmmmmmm theres the goodies. i take his cargo hatch down to 0% and hes in 3% hull, i stop my attack and let him leave, no need for needless killings. and he promptly SC'es away, so i check my contacts and low and behold i HUGH list of "Grain" worth about 200cr on the black market...yay i just made enough to pay off the bounty and fines i got from shooting the guy. not a very profitable venture thsi time around. and honestly if the guy would have stopped and said i have grain lol i would have laughed and offered him so of my own credits "if that was a thing i could do" just cause i felt bad he was carrieing grain lol.

ROTFLMAO........

My first question would be "Why didn't you cargo scan him to find out what he was carrying?".

It's a little bit like a mugger beating a guy up and then bemoaning that he only had 5 quid on him. If you're held at gun point it's not unreasonable to assume that telling your mugger that you're nearly broke is going to elicit a bad ending for you, after all - he's pointing a gun at you.

Most muggers are exactly that, muggers not murderers..... they would risk a six month probabtion for robbery but not risk the death penalty for shooting some random broke dude...
I guess its the same thing here.... Why get a big fat fine and a Wanted status for destroying some trucker with hold full of grain.....

Would be funny if he got fined for having to abandon the mission if it was in fact a hauling mission.... ultimate grief.

Most of the legit reasons he was hauling grain must have been said by now but ill more. When my type6 was new and unupgraded i would always have 10tons of food cartridge. 1 on the reasons was that often missions in my system would ask for food cartridge and the other reasons was so if i was in such a bad situation that i would need a few more seconds for my fsd drive to cool down i would drop that carge instead of the real cargo hoping it would buy me some seconds. I never actually had to drop anything but it's not stupid to play it safe.

There is no such thing as greifing in an open pvp environment.

My first guess would be he didn't have enough cash for a more expensive cargo without dipping into his rebuy credits.
Why make a thread on the forum about it? Do you really expect him to come and answer?

I think this is basically a superiority e-flexing thread.

Dear CMDR Checknob............sorryeeee...nov. Please, please interdict me. I promise faithfully to return what's left of your ship to the nearest station:p

Dunno about grain, more I wonder why people dont respond to simple requests, happens soooo often. Do they panic so much "OMG OMG OMG PLAYER PIRATE" that they don't notice you talking to them?
