Don't Try To Ram Me

It's very bad form to try and ram me whilst I am scooping up the cargo you dropped for me. Please don't do it as I then have to destroy your ship.

Once you've dropped your cargo, just leave. You get to keep your ship and the rest of your cargo that way.

Sorry had to reply!

Obvioulsy not knowing th full context I have 2 thoughts.

1) Shepherd you victim way, ramming is the same as the victim opening turrents, you are limited by cargo scoop out, make sure they have jumped out - you are only doing half the job as a pirate.
2) If victim has no other weapons ramming seems a great idea to me. If dropped > loss than cargo loss and money in bank is conserably greater than > than insurance plus restock - let the pirate know if they have only done half a job.

I personally think the player taught you a good lesson - if they are a multi-millionaire they probalby expect you to be professional. If they are a really cheap ship, they probably do not care. If they are in a Hauler - I would agree with your assumption they are probably annoted and went "f" it.

Try improving your priating technique - get the victim away as soon as possible to allow you to pick up the cargo. They have just dropped the cargo, so ship position and comms are your friend.

Cheers

.... if you survive the impact, of course....

There are no rules with respect of how the targeted ship should behave - as far as they are concerned, dropping cargo may simply be a ploy to focus the pirate's attention elsewhere (as it seems to have done in this situation).

Interesting scenario, this honestly would've caught me off guard if I was to pirate someone. Instead I'm hoping to run into people such as yourself :) good hunting.

Hi Bosie,

May both giving some context. Cmr Maynard is right, if you target is very much larger than you - then ramming is an obvious play. If you are wanted then sooner or later depending on their status in the system, the poilce will turn up.
As I said shepherd your victim away.

Pirating is the most social of the professions. Its like trying to sell holiday homes in (insert country you do not like). NPCs are easy, they shoot their load and then jup out. Players are different, your primary weapon is actually text and if they accept voice. The weapons your ship should be bristelning but they are secondary.

Get a grip. You are engaging in piracy. Just because you get your quarry to drop cargo don't assume the fight is over. I'd do exactly the same with the right circumstances.

Learn what piracy actually means. Use a dictionary if necessary.

Don't be sorry, I'll take that on-board and improve with it. Now to dock up and repair as the Asp I just pulled over put some big holes in my Viper! Although I did learn the art of running away during that fight.

Piracy is typically an act of robbery or criminal violence at sea. The term can include acts committed on land, in the air, or in other major bodies of water or on a shore

Damn, no mention of space at all...

I'm not complaining that he tried to ram me, or fought back. I am stating that if you do that I will blow you up when I would rather let you go.

Oh, another thread with a pirate complaining about having to work for his stolen cargo.

Did you even read my opening post?

I've killed three bounty hunters and another pirate today who interdicted me for my bounty. I enjoy the fight, win or lose. I've ran from a guy I interdicted and "gf"'d him as I jumped out.

No complaints here, just trying to offer advice that will save a trader from losing his ship and all of his cargo.
