Silent Running - Docking?

Hi,

Just a question regarding Silent Running.

When you are smuggling goods and using silent running to sneak into the station I assume that you do not have docking permission so go do you go about using a docking pad to sell your illegal goods?

you still need docking permission, SR will prevent the security ships outside from scanning you though.

Well it will partially help you, they can still scan you at close range. Best method I found was to engage silent running, wait for the first patrol to pass (cops are fairly predictable) then high speed into the dock.

You still need permission, also silent running is far from a guarantee at not getting scanned. Best thing I have found is requesting dock permission then turning off all modules except thrusters.

No need for silent running at all. Deploy two or three heat-sinks and you can crawl into the station with no bother.

I run slaves and imp slaves as trades. Illegal in almost all systems.
I sell them at black markets. I line up for the entrance, ask permission and fly in at full speed. Did this with the cobra, later the type 6 and now with the ASP.
1 out of 25 times I run in like this, I hear them scanning, but I'm in the dock by the time they finish, so no sweat.
No need for heat sinks, no need for silent running. In fact: Most of the time I throttle back to the blue (more maneuverable) just prior to entering the letter box.

I like the idea of a fast run though the entrance before they have time to complete the scan.
