Utterly Shocked at Alliance Starport

I've just landed at my first Alliance startport after flying through a couple of hundred light years of Federal territory

On arrival at the station I was absolutely gobsmacked to find....

It was exactly the same as all the others....

There is nothing remotely 'Alliance' about it, nothing to differentiate it from the federal station... The menus and links the same layout, station appearance the same, same rules, same voice. Same everything...

What is the point in having this huge galaxy to explore if everywhere is the same ?

Well, considering the Alliance aren't even fully implemented in the game as a real faction right now the only thing to do is wait and hope that one day all 3 of the main factions have their own station types. Something that should have been in the game on release, but, well, it isn't.

It's disappointing, I agree.

It has a big alliance logo on the side, unless it's a coriolis or an outpost. :p

Its a coriollis, and simply slapping a logo on the side is hardly sufficient, I was expecting a totally different 'feel' to that of the Federal stations

Funny, but Eve Online started like that; all Amarr stations looked the same on the inside, as did all Caldari stations, all Minmatar a all Gillette stations. Come to think of it, they still do --although their outsides have a bit more variety.

In fact, I recently watched some YouTube videos of Eve Online when it first started. Can't believe it is the same game it is now --what a difference 13 years makes! Of course especially with the Rhea update in December, which added a whole lot of things, it has changed a lot. So I'm guessing that the same will happen with Elite Dangerous. Until then, enjoy what we've got. After all it's all First world Problems. :)

Can anyone help me find Mos Eisley?

Nope. Mos Eisley is planetside so it won't be implemented yet ;) But if you find the Death Star somewhere around Alderan or Endor send me a PM please :D

Let's just hope the game will live that long. Barely any games survive that long. Most of them are old after only a year and won't get developed any further. ED might be different because it seems it wasn't planned to be a quick success to be abandoned shortly after release like most others are.

I'm hoping they'll flesh this stuff out as time goes on. Base game, blah blah. Fingers crossed here ;)

Clickbait... Funny thing I knew that clicking with the sole intention of writing 'click bait'... not that your point is invalid, but your title... clickbait.

Useless post, why bother?

Because I'm getting annoyed with clickbait in general, both here in the forums and on the internet in general. 'You'll never believe what...' etc

And like I said, I didn't disagree with his point, just his title.

Totally agree clickbait trolling trash.

Is there any lore reason for the stations to be different? Or would it not make sense that a bunch of settlements (regardless of allegiance) would build stations to the same specifications? Just asking, lore has never been a strong point for me.

Well, to be fair it is entirely normal for invididual Players having individual expectations.

There's alot of missing diversity in my Opinion as well - and instead the Game suffers from the "more of the same" Syndrome in several important aspects.
But hey, that's just my Opinion...

I don't disagree with his point. I backed this game two years ago. It's totally different from the Alpha I played and I expect even next Christmas it'll be MUCH better. And the Christmas after that, better still.

That said, it's a rock solid base to work from.

I agree on it not feeling any different, and very fed for that matter

however the alliance is more a conglomerato of independents, so i think they have less of an "identity"

that said they should not look too much like a fed with a sticker on it

Use your immagination. This is sandbox game all 400 bilion star galaxy are out there and you complaining about some station looking a little similar?
Havent you read any book? Eh.. new generation. At least in 84 we used to read books to train our minds and immagination. Cant people do the same these days? Game is amazing. Perfection.
Or maybe game is not for you.

I agree, they need much more character and variety to represent who they belong to, and to give us the feel for that part of the galaxy. I really really hope this is something FD expands upon, I think they will over time. Very understandable where it is at the moment tho, it's a huge undertaking. For the record, I'm an old school gamer.

Yeah. Amazing. Perfection. If you use your "immagination" to ignore every negative aspect entirely. How dare this new generation expect quality when there is quantity? 400 billion star systems! 400 billion!
