Got 5 billion free credits after logging back in

Jesus. 330+ million to fully upgrade a Python, with a 35+ million insurance cost. That seems a bit extreme to me. I mean, that's not even feasible for a normal person in my opinion.

At the rate I'm at now, with a Lakon 6, it would take me around 11 months, and every death would mean another month's cost. Maybe a type 9 would allow faster earning, but you're looking at a long haul to buy that as well.

I want a Python, but now that I see the actual amounts, I dunno man... seems a bit much even for someone like myself who enjoys trading.

I'm currently earning between 1-2 million per-hour in 120 ton Asp with almost no effort (i.e. not the best trade routes). With a 220 (ish) Type 7 I could be bringing in over 4mil per hour with little effort.

The Python can be modified to hold around 250 or something if I remember, so once you've bought it that will jump up as well obviously. Even the Courier can bring in something like 240, and there's the Drop Ship, which both could be used as an interim to the Python as well.

So it's not that bad.

Why a newsletter at this time of server instability and bug ridden gameplay?

surely the priority is to address the later well before the former?

for me the game is now unplayable - unable to connect and remain connected. It has to be said however, first sign of trouble since the start of Premium Beta.

Please hurry FD. Withdrawal symptoms are starting to set.

Thanks

Trading in a Python is not worth it. Not unless you have the money from the start to upgrade it and cover it. 2.8 mil for fuel scoop because fuel cost to much. 5mil minimum for FSD, 5 mil for power plant and much more on other items. Cargo racks etc. Then you find a route where maybe you make 2500 in a 2 leg route you are making 300k to 400k. If you are crazy enough to run without shields and you get damaged its 100k per 1%. If you do it without a fuel scoop you will lose tons of cash on fuel. I would trade in a Type 7 if you wanted more cargo, it may be harder to find that 2500 per ton route because of large landing pads. But in the long run a Type 7 makes more profit.

All that money and what is there to do with it? Buy a Python worth 300+mill or maybe an Anaconda for a billion? Then what? Right now this games only "mechanic" is grinding money, once you get money the things to do with it run thin, quickly. There isn't anything you can do in a big ship that you can't in a small one other than grind credits faster. Anything involving combat is just as entertaining in the small ships, save for Anaconda missile swarm boating players.

Same can be said for a lot of 'stock' ships...

Trading in an upgraded python (80m overall value) is worth it though, its also deadly in combat.

I bought a T9 but didn't have a lot to spare on upgrades, which left me with an almost defenseless, slow, heavy and short jump range ship, although 488 cargo space sounded great, it really wasn't that great in terms of CR per hour, at least at its stock level and compared with the Python.

I can make more money in the python with 200 cargo space in a shorter space of time due to less jumps and faster speed for docking but I can also have more fun whilst doing it by stopping off at nav beacons / taking kill missions etc... so I downgraded again. Also, in the short time I had the T9 I was interdicted about 20 times and suffered enough damage to hurt the profits.. something which doesn't happen in the Python.

Last night I was offered 4+ billion when swapping a FSD on an Adder in the outfitters. I naturally declined but took a screenshot if anyone is interested.

Is it just me, or does the jumprange of such an expensive ship seem ... low?

"Hello dear Sir or Madam.
You don't know me, but I am a relative from Nigeria.
My late mother was married to a wealthy Prince, who has now passed away.
If you send me 2 billion credits for the lawyers fees, I will send you 20 billion back when I get my inheritance.

Your friend,

O/T: Well, it isn't meant to be an Explorer so I guess the range is adequate. Compare it to the other ships in this class and it's actually quite good. But yep, I too wish my Python could jump farther but it's fine with D level gear - somewhere around 25Ly unladen and 19-20'ish with max cargo.

Since you have the spare credits what does a fully loaded A-class Anaconda look like for jump range? :)

Heh, more it's like "never" than "long time". I'd tho be up for -destroying- those bases :D with an evil snigger when thinking about the losses caused.

Haha! Class, I wonder if they'd call 'griefer' having watched several billion credits go up in smoke. We can dream.........
