how to transfer a ship you left to your new location with your present ship.

Has there been a solution for this problem or am I missing something.
If leave a ship at a dock and go a long way from there and I have two ships I want to keep together. Whats the solution?

Sorry its not more helpful, but the only way I know of right now is to buy a sidewinder and use it as the 'third wheel'.

I believe the only solution, in lieu of a taxi service, is to buy a cheap sidewinder and fly to where the other ship is. When you get there sell the sidewinder get in your other ship.

I don't think this is anything that needs to be fixed in my humble opinion.

Eventually we will probably be able to pay to have ships moved, it's in the design docs, along with storage fees :D

A Sidewinder hey? I bought an eagle, put a fuel scoop on it and went that direction. Didn't think to get a Sidewinder. Will do that next time.

Hell I bought a Cobra to do it. You only lose like 30k and you get full price back on your component upgrades as long as you sell them back separately. Id rather lose a few thousand more to cut the trip short.

You'de be better buying a sidewinder and an A1 FSD :)

Really, can they jump farther than a Cobra with an A? Well then, Im an idiot. No real breaking news there. At least I flew in style.

I really think you should be able to just start the game with whichever ship you own. I'm not sure what the gameplay benefits are for forcing the player to physically relocate.

When stripped down I think a Sidewinder with a A1 FSD has a jump range of something like 25 LY or they use to in beta 3.

When the walking expansion is released, we will probably be able to hitch a ride for less money (or even free - with a player buddy) to get a ship from another location.

I buy what ever is at the station (small), fit an A class and off I go.

Naughty way, works only if your ship is in your starter system, get in a winder and boost into the walls on takeoff.
Dont pay insurance and pick your original starting position. Home in 2 minutes;-).
Get into old ship, dump/sell free winder and you are all set.
Costs 30k, but hey, it's quick.

That will solve the problem we face now with two or more ships. this really puts a damper on someone wanting to relocate 200 Light Years away from their present locality. Where's those fat headed Guild Navigators in their big cylinders when you need them to do some heavy hauling?

I disagree ;) I think that this should be "fixed" or "added" to the game.
Depending on the distance you pay for the transport and its good.

ATM I dont even think about buying a second ship as I would
have to stay in that system to access it. Althoug yeah you
can sell it, but thats somehow not how it should be.

Buy something, sell it, travel, and buy the same thing again... I WANT MY SHIP !
I integrated an espressomaker and a beertender... it took my ages to find these
on the commodities market. I had to attend the black market for the finest
beer in the galaxy so I cant sell my Viper and buy a new one somewhere else.

Enough with this insanity, I'll head to my cockpit ;-)

Not to mention the sentimental value we place in our ships that we own. I exist in the Apathaam star system. I seem to be the only one around for 30 lightyears in any direction. There is an abundance of mining systems here and the pirates are a scrawny lot. Joseph-Venport is the name.

Your going to travel 150 plus light years in a sidey? Oh the wasted time. You should have access to all your ships at any ship yard as long as you pay the transfer fee.
Problem solved.
