The first time ED gave me Palpitations...

...since the launch of Gamma - and it was due to my own idiocy (forgot to request permission whilst docking with a hold full of rares). Sorry for the bad quality, but that's the best I can do when recording in the rift):

Now why am I posting this? Because it felt awesome - you can hear me draw a few deep breaths there (forgot to mute the mic like I normally do). But the sad thing about is is: It was the first time I felt this in hundreds of hours of gameplay.

And it was not due to an outside threat but due to my own ineptitude.

Please FD, add some danger to Elite: Dangerous.

There are plenty of AAA titles that have never given me that feeling. So for ED to have done it a few times puts it well ahead of the curve in my book.

the first time i looked at the commodoties market and thought......Christ im gonna have to get a degree in stock shares or something to understand it all.

after a few mins of calm breathing i realised it wasnt as confusing as it looks.



the first time i came out of hyperspace and hit a sun head on almost made me have a heart attack lol.

I can't remember the first time :)

But one recent time was heading home with 4,000 light years journey worth of scan data and finding myself 600 light years from a station with a cracked (not shattered) canopy and 33% hull,
 
Well - kind of proves my point - all these incidents sound like they're contributable to human error. There really is no threat except the one we pose to ourselves.
