Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Interestingly the two Non-Lethal Weapons missions I did today both had "Influence: 1% (up)", rather than the usual 0%. Which is nice!

Well guys:

Since yesterday the influence for CSG has been 50%. Three times this afternoon the "pending status: Civil war" dissappeared just to reappear a bit later. May we be getting closer?

Best.

Pretty sure that's a display bug.

If you view CFS entry first, you'll see the pending states displayed in their little boxes.

Click back to the list, choose another faction, view THAT one, then go back to CFS. I think you'll find the CIVIL WAR box is gone from the CFS faction info.

At Ho Hsi, the "Jet Comms Ltd" faction has two pending states - Boom and Civil War. The former drops off if you swap between faction displays, but the latter is persistent.

A lot of folks have been working very hard at this, but really it does not look like it is going to shift above 50%. I have tried killing everyone but our guys but what happens then is you get good rep from all the other factions for killing the other factions, can't win.

I have been working my ass off here most of the night between trading and ...

Can anyone confirm exactly what we should be doing in terms of combat in Lugh.

We have been moving between 49% & 50% for the past hour or 2.

I just did a mission that required me to fetch some military plans in a USS, when i brought it back i was giving stats that I had not only helped CSG but also LFE. I'm not sure if that means we should avoid these types of mission but just be aware of it.

Another mission that did not help us was bringing 50 fish to sellers terminal. o_O

Yes i meant to mention this earlier. I had 2 slave missions, so i picked up 4 slaves and brought them too both stations, and each time i got got the down arrow but it did not reduce our rep.

I have had enough for tonight, but i don't know how much more i can take of this. Been there 2 weeks and its such a struggle.

Slave missions always reduce influence. Always always always, its not random.

Edit: Correction, freeing slaves will increase influence though.

Im going back to the Nav Point to kill everyone wanted but the good guys, that seems to help lower the stats of the other factions.

Hey Commanders, i did something else in the last Days but good to see that there is still some Activity in our Crimson Undertaking. So i will make my way back to Lugh in the Afternoon and do some Missions! :)

This is NOT listed among the missions you are supposed to be doing. This is counter productive. The biggest problem here is people coming onto the thread and not reading the recent posts. They think they are helping but are not. I appreciate everyones enthusiasm (I really do) but we need to be doing the same things or else there is no base level to work from.

I suggest you make it clear what is to be done. There are 47 pages and we can't sit and read all of them in the hope of getting the correct instructions, amongst all the bad ones.
I also don't see a crown on you head, less of the authority tone.

I second this. There is a lot of information that seems to be changing every day.

By me posting my results on the slave mission others will now know that it is counter productive, We have to do the missions to first find out what the results will be.

Please update the main post to reflect this

Sorry guys, I just typed out a big answer to this and then hit something on the keyboard and it all disappeared. So I will try again...

First of all let me say that I do not claim to have figured this whole thing out but a number of us are discussing this on our mumble server. Everyone is welcome to join. Contact Roybe on this forum and he will get you set up. I appreciate everyones enthusiasm and we do want your help. We have however learned from experience that people randomly helping can be counter productive.

Over the Christmas period myself and a number of others have been working tirelessly to reach 50%. In my opinion this was only achieved because there were less randoms doing stuff and more working toward the same goals. We have been trying different strategies and it seems to be working though I would never claim to have fully cracked it. The more people we have doing the same thing the more indication we have we are doing it right. The more we have doing random stuff the less sure we are about anything. This has been a public test but I would ask those of you who have ideas about doing things differently to contact me by PM or Roybe as he has been instrumental in this, and put suggestions toward me or him on our mumble server or by PM.

Of course we want your input and everybody has a voice but we are trying to lead everybody toward the same goals as that is the only way to judge if what we are doing is right or wrong. Our strateges may change but at the moment this is what we want:

-Keep bringing in non-lethal weapons and sell them ONLY at Crimson State Group controlled stations. You can see who owns a station in the system view map.
-Choose Perunario Orbital as the main station to do CSG missions from. we are attempting to flip this station. Do not buy goods there do only missions.

Missions you should be doing:
-Fuel the arts of war missions and all military based missions should be the mainstay of missions we do now. We are trying to push civil unrest up and Lock-down down in the opposition controlled stations.
- Keep trading the above commodities with our own stations.

A word on how we think influence works: It is my current belief that it is basic trade that is the biggest influence on a system. When you trade with a station you increase the influence of the owner. Therefore trade only with CSG stations. The actual goods you choose to trade are important. Infact this is far more important to our cause than the actual amount of profit it brings you. The idea here is to keep our guys well looked after. For example if food is not brought in it will increase the number of missions asking for food. Therefore we want to be bringing in weapons as this increases tension as our stations distribute weapons and this in turn increases our control over our own stations. Of course we have no actual proof of this but that is the effect of these commodities in the missions so we must assume it is the same during basic trade.

Missions: While missions do effect influence and this is clearly seen in mission results, it is our current belief that their purpose in the game is more as triggers to specific states as seen in your left panel on your ship - Famine, Civil War, Civil unrest, Lockdown etc.

You will also notice that some missions you do will increase these parameters and others will bring them down. Therefore, coming in and just choosing to do as many CSG missions as possible with lots of random ups and downs may well increase our influence but do little toward inducing a conflict zone. Therefore it is important that we do not just do missions because they make us lots of money but do missions that push the correct buttons instead.

For now just do the missions I stated above and we will review this again in a few days. If it works great, if not then we can scratch it off the list. But please don't just type stuff up like "I'm doing this and you can do that" because others read it and then do their own thing and although people mean no harm it creates uncertainty.

Like I say, if you disagree and think we are wrong then come and tell us! Use PM and contact Roybe and join our discussion on the mumble server.

There are a number of ways this thing works that seem to contradict. However, we did not make the game and have to work with what we have. Obviously there may well also be issues we have not figured out correctly. All we can do is try.

You are speaking to the people that are trying to do this, have your discussions here not on mumble, how did you expect us to know?
