Some people must be new to online games, the problems in Elite are minor compared to other games that have already matured or when they first came out. We just got out of gamma, give FD a chance to develop and find their feet. The core mechanics of the game are solid and I've had hours of exciting play so far. There are a few issues that definitely need looking at, and some tweaking is necessary, but does this detract from the wonder and fun of the Elite universe for me. No.
The most important thing after a working game is customer support and interacting with the community, almost all of the games I've played have got this massively wrong at some stage. Usually because they create a conflict between increasing financial gain and ticking off the player base, by rolling back things that used to be free or should be free. This is usually done in a clumsy way that riles even the fanboys. I feel like I already have got my money's worth of enjoyment, but I won't senselessly bash a company that is just starting out and has minor teething problems.
