Get your fat Asp off the landing pad.

Playing in open as a trader and I have many attempts at docking in Outposts thrwarted by big, fat Asps just
sitting there on the only available pad.

If you're going to take more than a minute to figure out your next move then enter the hanger fer gawds sake.

I've had to reload into Solo to dock and I'm not sure I'll remember to get back into Open to continue (I am THAT wasted).

Yes it was Cmdrs as they were sporting pirate decals.

You want players in open? Stop ******* with docking you half wits.

Did you try messaging them?

Out of curiosity if I get into the hangar and you land on the pad then I want to launch, what happens?

We've already got enough of that, props to this guy trading in open as far as I'm concerned.

*shrug* I think if someone plays in open they've agreed to accept all the crap that comes with it, especially as a trader since there's absolutely no upside unless you're playing it to encounter these kinds of situations.

Honestly, save yourself the grief and just trade in solo if its bothering you so much to post about it.

Oh give it up.

I play as a trader in open to enhance the game for pirates. Without traders there is no piracy, without piracy there are no bounty hunters,
without the three mechanics there is no game, well, not much of a game.

Outposts have but a single large docking pad (as far as I'm aware) I don't need to find a big, fat Asp just sitting there doing diddly squat
I've got missions to complete.

It's got nowt to do with my game and a helluva lot to do with your/other's game(s).

I've got no problem with the so called downsides of open play for traders but when I spend 10 minutes trying to dock at an outpost because some 'r' sole
can't be doing with getting in the hanger I think it's pretty bad.

I know, I'll go play solo from now on and that'll solve any frakkin problems, for me at least.

Just think, at least if they're up on the pad you know why docking is denied :)

Well yeah, there is that I suppose. It would be nice to be able to target said ship and ask, politely of course, for them to move on.

I'm not so bothered about them being there, it's that I go into solo to dock and forget I'm in solo and spend the rest of my game time in solo
oblivious to the fact that I'm there.

Going in the hangar they still won't clear the dock for you. On the top or in the hangar, the pads still in use.

But if asps are bugging you, I could come over with a python and flash my headlights at you while I sit there.. :p

Is that right? I never knew that. I always assumed that going into the hanger released the pad. Oh well I guess it's solo play for me from now on.

Sorry all you pirating types but there appears to be no salvation for you.

AFAIK it makes no matter if someone sits on the pad or goes into the hangar, the spot is occupied in either case. Theoretically, logging out and logging back into open should generate a new instance so I don't know if it is really necessary to go into solo (of course it's the safest option - always room there and any NPC taking up "your" space gets ejected).

Honestly, you've improved the game for yourself aswell, I wish more were thinking like you. In solo all a trader needs to think about is what commodity can I cram into my type 9, in open there are decisions to be made, risks to be taken. Will I use the defenceless type 9, or maybe use the asp or python which can look after themselves, will I be ok going through that anarchy system, etc etc.

When you log in, you come in a solo instance, even in open till you jump (not sure if an actual hyper jump or just into SC, the last I think) otherwise you could not log in if the pad you logged out on was occupied.

On the other hand, you could try and solve the clogagge with a pack of dumbfire missiles? ;)
I for one was tempted to do that before I frequent outpost's too, lucky for me my neck of the stars is not to populated, but like I said, if your tired of the asps, I can park my python there for you and let me tell you, that baby got back.... :p

I usually play so totally wasted that it's not that logging out/in will work, it's more that I only remember that solo works and then I forget that I'm in solo.

I then spend the rest of my time in solo because I don't really remember where I am.

I love my life. No really, I love my life.

I play in open to give those wannabe pirates something to do. I'm easy prey 'cos I got no co-ordination or focus, I'm carp at combat and I don't care but even I like to
complete missions on time if I can.
