FD should only allow ED owners on the forums

At this point there are enough ED owners to allow for a full forum experience without the hateful attacking the game for kix and turning the forums into nothing more than..well..evry other game forum...ED owners/backers deserve a forum with more integrity that provides valuable feedback from other owners without the crap opinions from people who have never played and never will.

You can have a +1 rep for that Axis. Would there be extra security needed as I'm always wary of putting game account creds directly into separate web-based forums....?

Regards,

Regards,

To be honest, it wouldnt be particularly difficult to do. They had similar restrictions in place during the various release phases of the game. I do tend to like the idea. At the same time though I do think a lot of the ranters are owners :)

Disagree. I was in a game a number of years ago that only subscribers could post to the forums and read the threads. It was a nightmare trying to explain game mechanics to other potential players.

However I would support only ED owners being allowed to post.

Problem,
people who want to buy the game may think it's a bit fishy if the official forum is exclusive only to owners of the game. Especially when said forum used to be public and was only changed when somebody noted that the game might not be as good as everyone thought it would be and posted their concerns only to have the forum censored.
How about the mods just delete any posts that even insinuate criticism as I get the feeling that's what you really want.

Even if somebody states that they do or don't own the game, you really just don't know. So I would say OP should post some evidence of this or at least describe the process whereby he decides which post is a genuine game owner post and which isn't...

you would still need a heavily moderated public section for all the 'convince me to buy it' and what is this game all about then? can you do this?' posts

Yeah, gotta disagree too. While there are plenty of trolly posts around the current system does allow for people who aren't sure if they should get Elite to ask direct questions and find out if it's the game for them.

It's easy - register for the forums using the same e-mail account as when the game was purchased - job done.

No, because you would have to already own ED to post, is my point. No "convicing" to buy or "whats this game then?" threads. People posting would be actual players. Anyone else can simply read the threads and make up their own mind.

I love this idea. I'm totally against people with crap opinions. How would we evaluate those crap opinions? We should probably develop some kind of anti-Turing test, whereby anyone whose opinions do not dovetail with those of the tester have those opinions classed as crap.

Actually, we should go further and perhaps try and incorporate something deeper into this so that we can test that the people who are posting are penniless children. Maybe check their spelling for cutesy spelling trix? Or we could include a question that asks them to name three pokemon. Or ask them who the main characters of Steven Universe are? Then we could ask them how much money they have in their pocketses.

Love it, you're a mensch. Have an upvote.

Oh wait, no. Don't. ;)

Come on, man. This is trolling. Albeit in the service of the game but it. is. trolling.

Post some of those useful valuable feedback threads you want so dearly and stop railing against the white noise, which we can all tune out if we just stop posting in the other troll threads.

Wait. I is posting in a troll thread.... Agggh.

Good point about the posting privileges, I support restricting the ability to post for those actually owning the game, given the rise of the Troll armies of late. Dark Internet Lords tend to create poor drama compared to the good old ones from actual literature. :)

Well, create one! It's not that difficult. I'm sure there are other players who share your view.
