I don't think FD will (our even should) give details about what they are working on, and especially should not put a date on anything. They could give us little hints or some progress teasers, but anything more would just give people more to complain about, or make irrational demands for refunds, or just generally act like entitled little children. I think we will see more regular communication after things settle down after the holiday season.

These posts are so entertaining. Most just boil down to "I don't know what I'm doing and it's all ED's fault."
I started at Beta 2 and have NEVER had a major issue. Sure, there were bugs to report and recommendations to be made that might help improve the overall experience, but ED has always been a ball to log onto and fly. Running my own server farm and knowing what goes into managing that and what goes into programming and effort like ED - I marvel at what they've done. The detail of the graphics, the integration of realistic lighting, and the modeling of flight and the effects due to basic physics are impressive to say the least. Anyone who doesn't appreciate all that must have gone into this, needs to get an education.
Second - to all the whiners having issues connecting, etc. - You can't expect ED to fix your PC. Clean out your malware and use a good hosts file blocker. If your box or connection is inadequate - it ain't their fault. I fly 6 - 8 hrs/day with no problems. yes the communications module still needs to be fixed, but it doesn't cause me to trash ED and threaten to "take my ball and go home." And yes - they do deserve a break after all the hours they put in during Beta/Gamma.

Yeah lets be honest here. The newsletters recently haven't exactly been gushing with info on what is planned. They do seem to drip feed us a little there. That said as others have pointed out, many have been on holiday, expect news to pick up over the next month or two.
FD Devs are home for the holidays. Somewhere its stated that tomorrow they will go back to work..

Besides, who says that they won't? People are on vacation. Give them a break.
Whats that got to do with having a christmas holiday. I'm no lawyer, but I'm sure they have longer than 10mins from the complaint to be made to rectifying it to it, is it not like 30 working days or something. Emphasis on the working days. Holidays are considered holidays, like Sundays. Not working days.
