Personally I use EliteOCR but I eyeball every single line, and not use the auto add high confidence lines...... I think that option should be removed simply because it does not work....... I've seen high confidence lines added that were completely wrong.

Human error dictates that you will make mistakes when manually entering data and you won't even realise you have done so.....this is why double data entry was created in the first place.

A combination of OCR and eyeballing is all that is needed for 99.9% accuracy

If the per ton profit is more than 2k, it's probably inaccurate......follow the rule that if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

I'm working a trade run at the moment in a ship with 112t cargo capacity, making around 1/4 million credits round trip in a total of 4 jumps there and back..... I've searched globally for more lucrative, but can't find anything.....thats about 1800cr profit per ton

Yep a few auto updates later those high profits are gone. Not sure what caused them to appear that way in the first place.

What's the AMOUNT header for by the way? There's AVAIL STOCK then AMOUNT and it's always an extremely low number.

Just revisiting this tool now that it has offline gubbins and bells and whistles and skins and and shtuff! Sloppy, you are an awesome dude. Still a few UX niggles but they pale in comparison to the awesomeness of this tool. Thanks.

What's your preferred tech feedback method? I'd like to pass some observations for your consideration.

2 jumps, one end the station is 13ls out, the other its 150ls. Profits one way = 1400cr/t, profit other way 1200cr/t. can make 6 runs an hour.

currently using an Asp, with 128t cargo hold. 330k cr/round trip X 6 = 1.9mil cr/hour. Minus negligible fuel costs of 4k/round trip.

Its not even that good a route, but its stable and I cant be bothered to move.

Yep getting this exact same thing using the same version too. Guess it's something server side since it's not just me.

Having issues with the tool worked fine last few days now Bottom right saying downloading current market 100% having to kill process to stop the application running even after I close the app. Screen staying gray not letting me do anything. I have tried rinstalling

I'm having the same problem. Did a clean reinstall and the same thing. Just sits there chewing up CPU

Same as the above, was worried it was my system, found the BPC prog in the prog manager remained even after i exited and reopened. Also reinstalled which didn't do much

Well after 17 restarts and two reboots it started working and was fine for the rest of yesterday (of course, I didn't dare close it once it was working).

Today's session I gave up with it. It just froze after downloading a market update. It states 'Downloading Current Market: 100%' in the lower right corner. Everything is greyed out except for the menu items and if I select for example 'Add/Update Prices' it tells me to wait until it finishes parsing. The problem is that it is not parsing at all. At this point I uninstalled it (deleted databases) and reinstalled. It behaves in exactly the same manner.

I have also noticed that when you close the program although the window closes it continues to run (as seen in task manager) and you have to manually end the task.

As much as I really appreciate the work you have put into this tool my experience is erring on the side of me spending more time trying to get BPC to work each day than actually playing Elite D!

keep havign the same issue, once I could get it running again by restarting it, but now nothing works.

More worryingly, I also notice that every time you start it, it leaves a "slopeys ED BPC tool" ghost process in task manager, and they can use quite a lot of resources even if they're not actually" running. so when you close the program, it kills the GUI, but it doesn't kill the program itself. and when you start it again, it starts the whole program with a new GUI, so if you restart a lot because of this issue, you can have the program running a lot in the background.

to further compound the problem, since I installed and ran it, I'm now having an issue where "WMI Provider Host" is continually running at 30% CPU as well, so I suspect the tool uses this for some of the data handling. a bigger problem is that you can't stop it from sucking up resources, it won't stop using 30%, even when you kill WMI Provider Host, it restarts itself and keeps using 30%.

what is that route... im really suffering with low profit. in 3 days i slept only 8 hours at total and i just had a type 6

Btw slopey ive noticed that theres quite a few zero distance or NO distance stations/systems in the db right now. If i do a search for any any with limited distance (say 12 ) i come up with a ton of places that have no distance. Can you eyeball that? let me know please.

Location coordinates (and thus distances between) are only known for systems that were in the limited region of the beta/gamma before they opened up the rest of the galaxy. Any system in the database with no known location data will show 0 distance, IIRC.

ALSO - There are commods all over the place that are missing a digit in the ingame display. literally it shows as 11,345,38 as supply.
is that 11,345,038? or 380? to me its 038. but when people ocr that if they dont correct it it will show as 1,134,538

Look closely, you'll see when something has 10 million or more in that column, the last digit gets shifted down into the space between that row and the next row. So you'll see something like:
11,345,38
1
12,670
...except that lonely 1 will be mashed partway between the 6 and the 7 or something. It belongs after the 8, meaning that first number should be 11,345,381.

stop pushing this app on people like its the end all be all. Guaranteed all of the stations that are in the wrong system, All capslocked etc are added by lazy pilots using that tool. one guy scans thru the wrong screenshot in the wrong system and instantly the whole things messed up. No ones going to go thru the trouble of typing in a whole stations commods in the wrong damn system doing it manually. as for me, manually entering I can do a station thats already got existing data in less time than you can OCR it and i have both screens up for side by side comparison and know that its 100% accurate every time. Then again tho i do data comparison and correlation every day as part of my job. so YMMV. Personally entering it by hand is just worlds better and safer. nothings going to get added that you didnt realize when you do it by hand. and yes , ive even done quite a few stations by hand that had no data at all.

You can't enter data from the wrong system via EliteOCR. It tags the current system and station in the export filename, and Slopeys won't accept it if those are different from the station you're currently docked at. The problems arise when it gets a number wrong and people don't correct it before importing it and uploading it.

Drop the shields and any scanner. The profit from the extra 8 tonnes is not worth flying an asp without shields IMO.
