Given that some of the Nebulae seem to have placeholder, identical models at the moment (even in the case of famous ones), I suspect certain bits of scenery haven't been fleshed out yet... so I'd recommend waiting before undertaking some epic journey, only to find another copy'n'paste system.

I'm slowly working my way in that direction. I'm doing it in sections, actually exploring as I go and not just racing to the destination. I'm currently heading back to civilization for the 3rd (maybe 4th?) time to sell data and see if I'm ready for any significant upgrades (but I doubt that I am). It is a very long way when you take this approach, but totally worth it in my opinion.

I went to Eta Carina in gamma, blink and you'd miss it so diffuse was it. Although nebula are looking far better since those days, I agree they're still placeholders, just the next level of placeholder up from what we had in gamma. Hopefully the next stage will add bit more uniqueness, especially for the real life well known ones.
