I've been playing this wonderful game since Beta.
Up to know I've made 8 insurance claims, mostly with my old Sidewinder and a couple with my old Eagle.
Since I've had a Cobra I've never had to make an insurance claim, and I can't really see how I would have to either.
I can out run anything I can't destroy.
I use a keyboard/ mouse combination too, but that adds to the thrill too.
I guess I'll have to get a joystick at some point, but I'm ok for now.
It certainly gets the blood pumping when I know I'm screwed if I lose my Cobra as I've spent millions upgrading it.
Anyone else enjoy living dangerously?

Fellow mouse and keyboard player here too - I have gone through three joysticks now and I still prefer the mouse and keyboard. By the way I do not like to live dangerous because profits is everything in my game. My Asp has no shield of weapons but my ship is very well upgraded and can run away from just about anything - so far :D

Good on yah....glad to see a thread like this rather than the "I lost everything" threads by folks that risk everything then lose and blame the game.

The one that will usually get you is entering / exiting a station while under the influence... (I like having insurance for such eventualities)

Well I'm not a keyboard player like you, but yeah, I usually run light on credits, and I won't moan on here if I lose it, I'll just swear and carry on.

And there's the rub I guess, mine is a balanced risk. I have 2 kick ass turreted beam lasers, 2 shield cell banks, and military grade composite, plus an A grade fuel scoop. I would only ever allow myself 1 or 2 at the most cargo modules.

I always play open play. I would relish the chance for someone to come after me. I'm currently mucking about in Di Kun, exploring my way slowly back to Sol via Hirapa :)

Seen griefers mentioned in almost every single thread yet I still cant pinpoint what they are... Anyone want to pm me the agreed definition on this forum?

There are posts here daily about those living like you do.

They usually start with "I QUIT BECAUSE INSURANCE BROKEN" or some other such nonsense. :D
