Type 7 explosion.

Type 7 with 208 cargo of gold just exploded while using the docking computer as it entered the station.

Not wanted, no scans, just booooom! as it went through the slot. Station didn't even shoot me, just BOOOOOM!!

Cost me about 2.5 mill I think lol

Sometimes the docking computer get's stuck sure, but you can use your thrusters to move your ship...

This time I was just flying through the slot, go in and booom!

No idea what caused it lol

I like to fly my cobra at 400m/s into the back of large ships that are trying to dock.

There's a rumor about docking computers being programmed by a drunken, blind dyslexic, with their feet, while wearing shoes...
You couldn't pay me enough to use one. :D
But seriously, random explosions are a new feature. You sure there wasn't maybe a suicidal NPC around?

Docking computer would move me out of the way, besides hitting a type 7 with shields in a cobra would probably pop you before me lol

Nope, didn't hit anything. station didn't open firem, no bang, crash, squeak sounds, just boom lol

You probably got stuck in the entrance of the station. I've seen on a stream that the docking computer isn't all intelligent when other crafts are coming out. Probably another big enough ship was about to fly out and your ship couldn't get through. Thus the station startet firing on you after a while.

Think you will find that T7 and Cobra have the same class of shield (C4), so you would both take damage. But my guess is a T9 probably collided with you and you came of worse, T9s are the biggest killer in ED didn't you know.;)

Nope, wasn't stuck. I was sat watching it fly in, was nice and smooth.

Do you keep 4 pips in your shields because I do. And if you were fully loaded down then I can say with 90% confidence that you were over the optimal mass for your shields.

Docking computer makes me wait in a queue if npcs are flying in and out. it also moves your ship out of the way if on a collision.

Gold is explosive in Elite. Had some strange death too in a Type6 (Type7 still innnocent).

Silent Running maybe?

I'm keyboard and mouse so my hands were no where near the silent running key.
