Conflict zones are too rare.

I haven't seen a conflict zone since launch. I know there are a couple of systems that I've been told have them but why should I have to leave my preferred area? I have everything mapped, know all the trade prices, have been working on rep and influence. I dont want to have a hundred LY trip to get some action in conflict zones. Are they really that rare? If not then surely they should be more visible and easier to find than just stumbling over them?
I flew all the way to Dulos last night because its mentioned in the news bulletins but still could not find any conflict zones.

If you read the galnet you'll know some of the most well known conflict Zones.

Dulos & Sanna may have them soon.
Durius have some iirc
Kappa Fornacis(?)

Anyway there are also a few more not mentionned
such as
Barnard's Star
Wolf 359
HIP 22500
Zeus(may have changed)
ROSS 780
Epsilon indi

It would be nice if the map had a filter for that. you can still check the state of the factions within the system. if they're at war they may have conflict zones.

Anyway 100LY can be crossed rapidely.

The problem is not how many zones there are, but how to find them.

Stir up enough trouble in your area then if you can't be bothered to travel.

You can do 100 lyr over a cuppa

You hardly stumble over them they are in the system nav list when you scan it on arrival.

i don't agree. i hope that conflict zones one day will attract PvP and if you spread it more out that's never gonna happen.

also there's a story behind the conflicts, and just because you don't want to leave your "home area" and travel 10minutes, to help the empire, fed, farmer's union or whoever is not really an argument, tbh.

I wouldn't bother TBH.
They're cool and all that and fun for a while but due to the poor rewards, the high probability of death by collision and the fact that nothing is effected and nothing changes I would say that putting in the effort to find one isn't really worth it.

I don't think that we need more systems with conflict zones but it would help if systems with them would be marked on the galaxy map. Maybe something next to the system name.
And the options to filter those system would also be of help.

I approve of this! some kind of hot spot filter. Like glowing and throbbing red spheres for very hot, orange for early conflict and green for peaceful ones etc.

Actually this specific suggestion d deserve its own thread, go! :p

I want to see a warzone in real life. But why should I have to travel to Syria or the Ukraine? There should be one in my own country, right?

Seriously, ED is not a game where anything is laid out purely for your benefit. You're not a unique snowflake, you're just one of many thousands of perfectly ordinary pilots.

Sadly I agree. I was excited when I found my first conflict zone but it was rapidly replaced with a feeling of being let down. Nowhere near as much fun to be had as an ordinary nav point.

Agreed. Combat bonds could pay more at the very least.

I'm in Dulos now. For a system that's supposed to be at war there's nothing happening.

No missions for combat at any station, the Nav point and USS are devoid of proper targets, I found a couple of wanted "Mostly Harmless" sidewinders that barely covered cost of fuel and munitions.

There are no conflict zones I can see, of course the system is 3500ls across, at least, and I'm not searching that. If they don't want my help, sod em.

Buricasses has a couple. One of them is within 3-400Ls from the A star, and there is a station just a couple Ls from the high intensity conflict zone. Better than Durius, which is like 200k+ Ls from the jump in point. Takes a good 10-15 minutes of SC just to get there, which makes it a PITA if you need to jump out for any reason. So IMO, Buricasses is better.

I agree with the OP.

On a different subject - I live in London, but I really like Giant Redwood trees. Majestic etc. I don't want to travel all the way to California to see one, however. Too much like hard work. Besides, I have made extensive investigations of the world immediately outside my front door, and I know which neighbours are proper human beings and which ones deserve a good railgunning, where the local bargains are, and which roads are traffic magnets. After making that kind of minimal effort, I should be rewarded by being able to see a Giant Redwood out of my window any time I like, surely? Pull your finger out, Boris!

That would be a nice addition. Sort of like a Cartographics Travel Advisory overlay.

ROFL! Nice one.

As a Californian with Redwoods in my backyard, I beckon you to make the trip. :D Besides, I flew to London last summer just to see Monty Python live. I knew MP would never come perform right outside my window, so I had to compromise. It was sooooo worth the trip. :)

Explored all the planets. Nadda, well this sucks lol. Got off work, traveled over 100 light years, explored whole system and nothing. Dis makes me sad.

The problem is not how many zones there are, but how to find them.

And once you are there you find an empty instance with only ships of once factions if there are ships at all. Been there done that, it gets old very fast. Sure it nice if my desired faction is official expanding. But it is kind of annoying at the same time to have conflict zones for days without having actually conflict in them.

Sorry to say it, but I agree. Its getting quite frustrating to be honest. I've fought in a couple of conflicts and even though they don't pay as well as bounty hunting around nav beacons and RES's, they're by far the most fun you can have in the game (in my opinion). So, I've spent a good few hours in total scouring feudal systems and responding to rumours of conflicts to no avail :-S

If you actually take our planet as an example, you would expect ALL inhabited systems to have at least one conflict zone over some dispute or another. But to travel a hundred LY to a feudal system in the hopes of finding a fight, only to find that you've wasted you're time... It starts to get a bit disappointing.

Systems with feudal governments can be isolated on the system map. Why not have conflict zones in all of these systems? Or at least be a little less cryptic with rumoured conflicts. e.g. "War has broken out in system X and is expected to continue for yay long". I don't mind the long distances, as long as its worth it when you get there.

Anyway, sorry for the negative input, but I was thinking about posting a similar thread.
