Buying elite accounts?!?!

Ha, you make one angry post and the next thing you know you've got a bunch of people trying to buy your beta account.

Is selling your elite account even legal, or allowed by the system?

And no don't message me with offers I'm NOT going to sell it :| (BETA PLAYER AND PROUD) moving house, work issues and an ex girlfriend making trouble will likely set a few of you off when your ASP gets substituted for a Sidewinder lol.

Also what about other issues with selling accounts. I mean my address information is attached to it, I have no idea if payment information could be taken from the account. There's the e-mail address you've attached it too. What secuity concerns lay in doing this.

Again NOT going to do it. I'm just curious as clearly it's something people are contacting people for.

Oh all right, I'll sell it but not for less than £50,000 :D <<< this is a joke don't ban me mods

2. Grant and Scope of Licence

2.1 Subject to your compliance with the terms of this EULA, we grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, revocable, limited licence to use the Game. You are permitted to:
(a) load the Game into and Use it on a single device which is under your custody and control and which meets the specifications referred to in the manual for your own private and domestic Use;
(b) transfer the Game from one such device to another; provided the Game is Used on only one device at any one time and any device on which it is Used is under your custody and control at the time of Use.

Bolded by me. You could have easily found this yourself.

Frontier's EULA is disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means no.

the selling of accounts is not permitted and will lead to them being banned.

Yeah I thought that was the case.

Naughty naughty people.

Ha, what next for Elite? BUY GOLD TODAY! Elite gold farming haha...

I guess it's reasons like that, that they don't allow you to move credits and cargo between players.

The account is tied to an email address which would make selling it hard anyway.

(You can sell the account if you want but the buyer needs to know if they are found out the account could be suspended)

and why should it not allowed?
you sell your game.
so it is belonging to me.
where it is standing that isnt allowed :)
really calm down

I have seen this before on other online games is nothing new and something the devs won't look into. Allot of accounts add the following disclaimer something like you are not buying the game but only purchasing the time that i have put into it. . You can expect allot more accounts to be sold in the coming months.

Oh , I know a lot of people who bought an account from other people.
Better when a man loves Elite. Your plan is to ban all or who bought the game after today's date?
I have my own game, but I want to know.
Sorry for my English.

I know a lot of people who bought the game that way. Or received as a gift without gift-card. They are very upset.

EULA does not allow for the transfer of ownership of the account. You pay for you to access the game and this is non-transferrable.

I have no idea how Frontier will distinguish between accounts that have just changed IP addresses or the ones that have been sold... From a professional perspective I'd love to know so Michael please feel free to PM me :D

sounds like eve onlines system is spreadinga few things though ( there are a lot of dissatisified accounts that ppl want to get rid of) obviously the market is there, its totally illegal and the fact its tied to one email account is a good idea

Of courseu cant transfer credits good thing and the only thing i can think of the bug that credited 5 bil credits has given people the idea of selling their accounts and buying anothe copy of frontier, still its dodgy and yeah hopefulyl FD are all voer it ( unlike the influence system which is a joke)

Wrong.
If the seller is smart, this has been updated or was started with a new email account.
If the account owner wishes to sell the account with the money exploit , then that is their business and risk. ( Yeah because we are all law abiding citizens.....)
Not to mention the minefield of privacy and personal information acts.
Software laws, account laws are ridiculously weak.
FD would have no way of knowing who or what has been traded.
I personally will happily watch any auctions of interest.
FD brought it on themselves with the ridiculous ship prices, ridiculous grind ( and for what ?) and the ridiculous exploits for a game that was released way way too early.
Good luck trying to catch whoever is selling, the only way to find out would be to part with your $$$$

You are within your rights to sell a DRM-free game. So if you bought elite dangerous on a level that was suppose to be DRM-free I would support you if you decided to sell your account.

Selling accounts isn't allowed and we would ban such accounts.

Not in Germany. I'm totally allowed to sell used software licenses. Also there has been a case in the EU court...

EU court rules resale of used software licenses is legal -- even online
In the case involving Oracle the court found that software vendors have no rights to block resale

I doubt that Frontier can stand in front of the court and ban your accounts for selling them if Orcale failed. So ban somebody for that and I hope he is smart and sues the company.

@Macgyver the ships really arent that high if you think about it. People already have Anacondas... But they could also be one of the few who abused previous exploits like the rare trading boom.

It only feels like a grind because everything is still pretty bare bones.
