Once the Panther Clipper will be released, those guyz will be able to instantly take all SUPPLY of Palladium off a station....... Panther Clipper will probably have something near 1000t of cargo hold.

Respect first of all for the well written post.

With regards to support - I don't think I could say anything better myself.

On the subject of the lottery-winners : As I am sure you know those that "won" had done nothing wrong in game, experienced an issue somehow (details I don't know) and during a refund process FD gave them too much. The people you're referring to were the exploiters and will be dealt with by FD in due course.

My feeling on the matter has been expressed in the DDF so I won't be going into all the details here.

Suffice to say I personally don't mind.

It would be interesting to hear how many of the 50 billionaires are actually keeping the money, given that they bought the game either prior to or shortly after its release, so obviously want to play it.
A lot of people have posted about how it would destroy their fun, I agree and I'm sure a lot of the 50 would as well.

I've been playing since release (Open Play exclusively), and have on several occasions clean wiped, currently have a Sidewinder, so from my POV, anyone with over a million credits can pirate / grief me already.
And given that there are lots of players who already have 22 million cruisers, how long do you think it will be before there are 50 players with billion credits from legit play.

In reality in this game it only hurts the exploiter since gameplay is pretty much ruined for them moving forward.

This game has been one of the more smoother MMO releases I have experienced.

Don't make me laugh.

They didn't resolve it entirely. They even stated that.

They didn't respond to an account issue for 7 days. Now that transaction has been refunded, instead of resolved.

I'm willing to bet I've been PC gaming primarily longer than you have been alive, likely including MMO. If you want to debate on knowledge of PC gaming, you will lose. Hands down.

MMO is not a gender, it's a genre and Elite is not an MMO. It is an online game that is barely multiplayer and the multiplayer is P2P.

5TCr ! Do you know that all those players are probably in a maxed Anaconda and will be able to take a Capital Ship the day that they will be released ?! Their games are not ruined ! They can now focus on the ENDGAME fun like heavy-events influencement or faction expansion.....

Even so, permit such a thing is not compatible with ELITE SPIRIT !

EDIT :
Actually a full T9 (with 532 cargo) can make 1,500,000 in 10 or 15 minutes. 15MCr in 25hours. To reach 5TCr they have to play 833 HOURS without any kind of delay. We will not see that over almost a year...

Idea: FD gives the people who received the free credits shiny, new accounts for free. These new accounts will be snapshots of their existing accounts just prior to the SNAFU. All the recipients have to provide is a second email address. Then FD takes the billionaire accounts and relegates them to play in a group play instance. That way they can enjoy open play with the unwashed masses and play billionaire with their other billionaire buddies.... or just roll that s&^%t back, put out a statement and lets all move on.

Let the bashing commence.

Lets say there 50 who got the CR even if all of them would terrorise Sol and al Systems within 30 LY they could not do that because there are more Star Systems and i bet they are not all Griefers

For me is killing a Hauler not really Fun thats the reason i dont do it even if i needed never to grind again!

Once the Panther Clipper is released, chances are anyone that has a type 9 now will be able to do that tbh, even assuming you're right and it holds 1000t...

Where are you getting this from? As far as I can see Frontier have said no such thing.

In fact the only "evidence" we currently have seems to indicate that an attempted exploit (whether intentional or not) was required as the first step to gaining the 5 billion.

Even though Solo and Group play can prevent you from directly encountering other players, it does not prevent other players from having an impact on the dynamic universe that all modes share. If I change the price of cobalt in a system, I've changed it for Solo, Group, and Open players. If I increase the influence of a faction in a system, this change applies to everyone else, even if they can never see me in game.

What people can directly do to each other in open is only half the equation.

If you're saying that no one cares about issues that don't effect them, personally I've not experienced any of these issues, but I'm taking this stance in a sympathetic regard.

Though, yea, it seems to be pretty rare that people care if something doesn't effect them.

I can't see why a person with a grown up brain should decide to cheat in an online game. So yeah: The risk is high these people have fun bullying others. But that is not my main concern. It is the attitude towards fairness the developers are schowing here, that bothers me the most. I am afraid this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Which the stuff to come they could do many, many things. The developers has to take this into account now. The whole game could go in a direction it wouldn't go elsewhere. If one average player will get a small amount of influence on the story, the billionaires will get it a thousandfold without having earned it.

Exactly. This isn't suppose to be a single player game only.

To respond to things that have been said about the money received, I would refer to it as passive exploitation. They may not have intended to take advantage of a bug, but they benefited from it if they kept the funds and benefiting is taking advantage of.
