[RELEASE] Slopey's BPC Market Tool! - New version!

Hello Slopey,

with the current users being shown, is there any way it can broken down into solo/open mode?

regards, Bigtaff

There would be no way for an external app to know that. (And if it did, it would have to read the memory of the live, running client, which is definitely a EULA violation.)

No, as above, there's likely no way to tell (unless it could be inferred from the log files) - but anyway, it's the same economy for both, so the BPC wouldn't care either way.

I just started up the BPC, and it reports "Table locked in Database" during the initial parse (not touching anything)
Then, I notice it's still at version 4.2.0.3 (as shown in the tiitle bar) where I expected it to update to 4.2.1.0. I got auto-update enabled, and it does not prompt to restart for the next version. Manually stopping and starting the program does not help either.

Thx,
Paul

Download it from the OP and install over the top of 4.2.0.3 and that should do an in-place update on it.

Having the same problem

I'm aware of it. Will patch it up to resolve that issue in due course.

User Accounts are going to be implemented very shortly, with a rep system (and possibly an upload credits system to encourage people to update).

Private Groups

I'm not interested in private info amongst groups I'm afraid. You share everything with everyone - that was the rationale behind the BPC, otherwise it'd quickly fragment to the point of being an offline tool with closed groups.

Favourites

Favourites would have come from the multi-select feature but I had a bit of a backlash over that. I may well add a From/To "favourites" list you could load up quickly however. Quite easy to do.

Permanent side-tab

I'm planning on making the BPC MDI form based in the future (i.e. individual windows for searches etc), that'd let you keep a system data grid open next to BPC search results etc...

Multiple source systems by range

This is "radius" search, which will be back shortly - (to use it, you'd set Any <> Any and Within Distance checked, and it'll search any <> any for any systems within the distance given from your current location (provided it has coordinates))

Thank you for the tool. Unfortunately I have only used it for one session as every time I try to use it it seems to be updating, parsing or whatever. By the time it is usable the opportunity I was trying to use it for has passed.

4.2.1.0 has far faster parsing, and from a new install, that takes < 1 min on all of my various machines. Beyond the initial download, it is purely incremental (with a max of 48 hours) so it should be zippy after you've parsed the first time.

I dont know if you read all replies/feature requests (I already posted this request), but is it possible to add an option, to Any to Any starting from a system and limited by a radius ? By example, Any to Any from starting point Achenar within 32Ly ? This will result in every combination possible from all systems in 32LY radius from Achenar.

Actually, it is Any to Any from ALL universe or Any to System/System to Any.

Or yet, in actual Any to Any, add a column with the distance from current system.

Excuse me my bad english.

See above under: Multiple source systems by range

The BPC doesnt detect my location in the galaxy. It always says iam in Styx.

The Tool itself works and gets me Routes, but not from the systems iam in (Secoya). And i cant uplaod the Data either.

I deleted the ed4.db File, but that didnt help.

See earlier in this topic - you need to ensure your "Logs" directory is correct in the BPC options page. Search your machine for FORC-FDEV* and that's the directory the Logs directory should be in. You need to put the path to the LOGS directory (including the \Logs bit) into the BPC log path field.

Then in the directory above that (FORC-FDEV* etc), you'll find the AppConfig.xml file. Into that, under <Network add VerboseLogging="1" on a line by itself.

Then save, restart the BPC/ED, and you should be good to go.

Awesome!

That's fair enough, I understand ;)

Awesome Lvl.2!

Awesome Lvl.3!

Ah ok, understood. Seemed an obvious one to have :)

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Wow!Way Faster parsing. Nice one and well done. Thats super quick now, was taking 15-20 minutes for me, now it takes 15-20 100th/second. Good job that man

The Logs directory is correct in the options. And VerboseLogging="1" is already set as a line by itself in the AppConfig.xml.

:-(

Now the tool is broken for good for me ...the 4.2.0.x wont update and if i install the new 4.2.1.0 from scratch i have 6! Systems in the DB
- using the old DB files crashes the new version

...does any1 have a good DB for the new version he/she could upload?

Also the 48 hours thing seems not thought through ...data that is older than that is still valueable as the prices may recover over time - stations produce and consume, dont they?

Could be a rights issue then? Try setting Slopey's to run as Administrator and see if that fixes it.

its already running as admin.

edit:

reinstalled the BPC, after first start it shows me the correct system i am in. Then i let the program search for the log file folder and the system changes to styx again. But the folder is correct.

I don't know if it's just a glitch on my system. But no matter how hard I try to set time in the options, it reverts to 02:00:00 Jordan Standard Time. I'm -8 pacific. I can select it from the drop down list but it always reverts to 02:00:00 Jordan Standard Time.

All other settings seem to be stored ok.

Small item: In options, when I select my timezone (-5 EST) and hit Save, each time I reopen it it's on the -5 SA PST option instead. Obviously not a big deal, just a small detail.

Thanks again Slopey for the awesome tool!

Im gonna use this now and try and make some money. I want an ASP but i will never get it as b-hunter. Thanks to everyone and Slopey for adding systems etc to the program!
