EDIT - holy crap, type in SADR in the gal map :)

Safe travels! Bring back photos and souvenirs!

How long does it take to get to the other side of the galaxy?

What if you get on the other side and find you are totally bored and want to do some bounty hunting or something?

Thanks all, I'll bring a toothbrush, towels and enough canned food to last a lifetime.
Is the core bugged with a disconnect/matchmaker error?
I had those several times today and yesterday and I had to change directions because of it

Other side is in the region of 50,000ly+. At an extreme with route planner peskiness you can do about 1,500ly an hour, if lucky. I average about 1000 with a few scan here and there if just traveling to a target. Do the math. You'll go bonkers I assure you doing it all the time. Then you have to come back. Double bonkers. If you get bored 10,20,30000 ly out you are stuffed :D

I wonder if your ship will break down before you get that far. Anyway good luck and you are bound to find an interesting planet suitable for colonisation if only you can make it back to sell your data and tell someone what I out there.

It shouldn't matter if you do get killed out there. Judging from your avatar I imagine you'll just wake up in a basestar... ;)

Good luck, commander. Have fun and take some snaps. Send us a postcard and if you see a nice souvenir, I'd love something tacky for my ship console.
