That Fer de lance, though!

Am I the only one who doesn't like it?

Yep, you are :D

No, you're not.

The Elite Original FdL was smaller in displacement than the Cobra, but had 12 crew(?!?) and was basically a luxury yacht with hard points. Lots of speed, lots of aggression, Hull like rice paper.

Still, there was a lot of love for the vessel, and I guess it would be hard to live up to everyone's expectations at once, but I'd have preferred another design philosophy from ZP. Let's see how it plays out in game though.

I would have liked it to look like an actual Fer de Lance, like sidewinders, cobras and eagles look like their classic counterparts.

Yes, wow, a Hauler on steroids! I hope that there will be that Bumble Bee pain for her.
Nothing like the original Ferdy, but still, I'm in love. :)

I don't like it.

It looks too much like the [Hauler if that is the way it's going to turn out.

I would prefer it to look something like it's older self in this other concept art....

this is obviously what they ended up modifying to make the Farragut-class capital ships for the fed.... The "possible" part within its filename is even user-added. Not once do I recall FD putting this design forward as the FdL. Something vaugely similar in design style (manufacturer oriented) but not THIS ship.

It is definitely pretty.
My guess is about the wingspan of the Cobra and twice the displacement - perhaps 80T if stripped out?
A large weapon slot on the bottom and two mediums on the top. Fits a class 4 Hyperdrive, a class 5 Power plant, and can mount a class 5 shield
Speed, firepower, and enough cargo capacity to make a pirate very rich

The first concept art that truly i don't like it.

basically it's a bigger version of the adder/hauler ship.
why they called ''fer de lance'' when it has nothing to match with that name ? it's a mistery for me.

After all those months waiting for the official concept of this mighty ship now i am pretty disappointed by the choice.

but, above it all, why they continue with these ''space shuttle'' designs.. ?

sorry, i don't like it at all.

My exact sentiments. I hate that they butchered my all time favorite ship. It looks NOTHING close to what this iconic ship should look like. This thing does not deserve the name.

They're already calling it a copy of Avenger, on one other forum...
Personally, I love it, but it's probably gonna be 70+M credits.

Just out of curiousity, has anyone else noticed that there appear to be TWO canopies on this ship?
a much smaller dark-shaded one forward of the Gold-screen (presumably the "bridge")....
If its not, I'm going crazy... (but wouldnt this just throw your sense of scale out of whack?)

doesnt look like its big enough for a cockpit if the gold screen is what the cockpit actually is.. maybe its just for your R2 unit?

Does not look like a fighter ship

More like a luxury travel with weapons ship

Like the original fer de lance

A Zorgon Petterson Group (Zee Pee Gee) designed vessel favoured by well-heeled bounty hunters and freewheeling business corporations. A sophisticated craft, capable of both limited trading, combat and leisure function. The spacious hull is mainly given over to sophisticated weaponry, defences and navigation equipment at the expense of cargo capacity. Cabin accommodation is large and luxurious with extensive Owndirt Inc. recycling facilities, encouraging extended live-in periods (useful whilst pursuing a quarry). Fuel scoop is a standard fitting, ensuring complete self-sufficiency.

The Anaconda has the large bridge that you sit in and then a small nav-deck just on the bottom of the nose!

That's ridiculous. The Avenger is a Viper. Same shape size and role. ;)

I don't like the look of this new Ferdy. The "windows" are just about there on the top, but it's not long or pointed enough.
