I've had issues with the Starport UI locking up, usually when opening the Contacts option. A fix I've found is to go UI Focus + Down (IE the key combo you use to get to left or right screens, except down instead of left/right. Shift + S by default), and that lets you select Starport Services again, which gets the UI working.

No, The change was a matter of minutes. Nothing could have happened in that time.
Have you tried turning off the docking comp in the right hand modules menu. You should then be able to manually complete a landing as a workaround

Two days ago, I was just about to enter Shavyrin Terminal in Zelano, when my shields instantly went down and I exploded with 216 imperial slaves on board. overall damage > 4mio
there was no overheating, no shooting and my shields were at 100% before this happened. I assumed that I was probably hit from behind by an arriving python. At least I saw it entering the letterbox after I was ejected from my ship. But after reading this post it also could be the same bug keem85 describes.

Another Hyper destination target bug:
If you select a Hyper destination while in Supercruise, then drop from Supercruise to normal space, you lose your Hyper Destination. The Hyper Destination still shows on the left HUD, but the navigation compass is gone, and the system is no longer in the left menu's location list. To relock your destination you have to go back through the galaxy map.

In right-hand info panel, "credits spent on ships" in the stats reads zero when it shouldn't.
I bought Elite Dangerous 3 weeks ago but all it does is produce a black screen if I attempt to launch the game from the Launcher. Frontier Support never responded.
sometimes it takes a bit. how long are you waiting before considering things "broken"?

I can't remember now, but does the launcher require one to run it as administrator?
Also did you try reinstalling the launcher and the game?
Finally, perhaps you have a firewall blocking the game's access to the Internet somehow.

Yes I've re-installed the entire game five times now. I've tried launching as Admin. Frontier Support never replied to my tickets, and this has been going on now for over three weeks.
it may be totally unrelated, but check the properties of the elitelauncher.exe file and make sure the "read-only" box is UNchecked. when i first purchased elite back in beta, i couldn't even launch the game because of this. you say you get to a black screen though.... its worth a shot.
I know that with the holidays the support got really backed up, but have you been checking back at the ticket's page on the website? I've read of people relying on an email notification that either never comes or ends up in the spam folder.
Yes, I go directly to the page, not relying on an email notification. There has been no acknowledgement what-so-ever.
UPDATE: I heard from Frontier Support today 11.1.2015. They could not recommend either work-around for making the game launch. This doesn't mean the work-arounds are bad, just that they are not officially supported. At this time the game still just goes to a black screen when I click Play.
UPDATE: I received a new watchdog.exe from Frontier today and now the game seems to load fine! 12.1.2015

Happened to me too! Apathaam, "The Saint". I am friendly with that faction, wonder if that might cause it...?
Have tried three times now. Closed game etc, between each time. The Saint is with the Apathaam brothers whom I am friendly, meaning he is 'green' and not hostile.

Bug with text on a mission $##DESTINATIONSTATIONNAME;
I was undertaking a mission and I receive a mission update whilst roaming the galaxy, however, the title of the mission now reads "Abandon delivering slaves to $##DESTINATIONSTATIONNAME;"
I took a screen shot but I'm not allowed to link it within this forum, however, it can be found at the address below if you take out the spaces
