Alliance Ship?

So the Feds get the Dropship.
The Empire gets the Clipper.

What do the Alliance get? I haven't seen any mention of an Alliance faction ship anywhere.

X-Wing pls.

Alliance gets a tin box held together with duct tape a string. I don't think they are organized for much more than that.

Jaiotu is colloquially referring to the Orca, and the Commander is right. They're re-purposed civilian luxury liners pressed into service by the Alliance.

But you don't need a reputation with the Alliance to get an Orca, do you?

I'm actually unsure. I just remember that being a bit of backstory for the Orca. However, since the leadership of the Alliance isn't centralized (or doesn't appear to be to me), it would make sense that there would be no reputation requirement. It's speculation though.

they get Starbuck and other b class actors.

maybe they are too divided to produce great things like that.

btw we haven't seen one production plant yet.
I suspect they and other will remain concept art.

The alliance isn't really a faction like the empire and federation, at least not right now.

They are a shared bounty area, but there is no alliance missions to complete, there isn't any alliance ranks to gain.

You see what you did here Frontier?

Where is the Quest! That would REALLY fill the gap nicely between the Clipper and the Dropship.

With this quasi-reboot you got everyone thinking they Alliance never had a thing going for them which couldn't be further from the truth.

It's my understanding that the major factions do not manufacture the ships themselves, rather they are built and distributed by the various big Corporations (Gutamaya, Faulcon DeLacy etc). Although some Corps will have a closer relationship to some factions than others (Empire subsidise the design & manufacture of the Clipper?), there is still a more or less open market for them (I think you can get the Clipper without the prerequisite Empire Ranks by having a good Rep). This explains why Federal Generals can be found flying in Imperial Clippers, as they have the wealth and influence to pull strings (think North Korean officials still getting at western luxuries).

Alliance have the New Rossyth Shipyards and Argent Aerodynamics Amalgamated INC, on Argent's Claim in the capital Alioth.
They were created by Meredith Argent and Mic Turner (deceased, killed by INRA) who were among the driving force in Alioth that led to rebellion against the Federation and the Empire and then to the creation of the Alliance.
The shipyards created several ship classes (Griffin/Mantis/Saker mk3/Skeet/Wyvern ... not in game) inculding the famous "Turner Class" ship that was capable of very long distance jumps but also a formidable foe in combat.

Conclusion : the Alliance do have ships, they are just not in game yet.

Indeed, the development of the Alliance seems to have been on the back-burner thus far. I'm hoping it will be raised to life quickly, though, since I have no great interest in playing a part in the strife between the Empire and the Federation.

That is an impressive bit of information, just what I have been looking for. May I inquire what is your source?

Alliance sounds more my style. Gritty, imposing.... not natural. lol

Imperials.... drink wayyy too much Kool-Aid

Federalists.... they are my default if alliance ships dont pique my interest.
