So, I'm 1500 light years out, where's the stations?

You will, unfortunately, die in cold deep space. Exploration is all about risk and finding new stuff. You will not encounter stations everytime. Plan you stuff carefully. Before jumping to a system you can use Thrudds Trading tool to find if your next stop will cost you a ship or not

I ran into the same thing today. Federation became hostile to me so I decided to try to find some empire systems. I headed "north" (up, in the galactic plane) and ran out of civilized systems fairly quick. Happily, after limping back into occupied space with my ship's integrity at 49%, I did make 200k + for selling my exploration data. Still haven't found any Empire systems, though.

Just a joke ... but really, there is no stations in the deep space beyond that distance from the small corner humans live in. Explorers are to carve, a possible, path for expansion.

Thats really unfortunate. With the technology humans have in this game, there would be much more much fruther. You can go 1000ly in a couple hours if you're on a mission.
