I created this poll to have some knowledge what are the best of all virtues of ED from the players perspective. I tried to compile every good things people praise on this forum. If you actually don't love ED, you may be interested in my other poll, "Why do you hate ED".

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=98873

If you both love and hate ED in the same time, like I do, please respond to both.

Interesting to see how only the "hate" poll received responses so far... says a lot about the current nature of the forums.

Really nothing terribly surprising. Its always been easier to get people to talk about negatives. I did find it interesting that I checked about 13 of the what I love boxes, and only one of the what I hate boxes.

It's a shame. These forums were great not so long ago.

Really nothing terribly surprising. Its always been easier to get people to talk about negatives. I did find it interesting that I checked about 13 of the what I love boxes, and only one of the what I hate boxes.

Well - admittedly it's not that surprising, but the weird bit is that most responses are from people claiming they don't hate the game, most of them apparently not even taking the time to read the first post and reacting more or less hostile towards the op, although she clearly stated she doesn't hate the game and linked this one in the OP.

Result: a seemingly negative post gets replies by people misunderstanding the intent of the post in the first place, interpreting it as negative and keep bumping it regardless.

Most likely it's just me, but from my POV people are weird ;).

Anyway - my distribution between both was pretty balanced, but do I hate ED? Absolutely not.

I don't know what things were like before but it's not surprising to see people being negative(by which I mean they're more likely to make a fuss over things they don't like rather than talking about what they do like =P).

Personally I'm enjoying just jumping from star to star exploring things in my Cobra. My understanding is that it's pretty laughable in terms of profit but I don't really care about having the most expensive stuff. I just love finding new things in the galaxy that I haven't seen before.

Although a longer range discovery scanner might be nice the next time I find my way back to civilization.

Its such a shame that the hate poll has 4 pages and growing while we've yet to get past one here. I've filled in both and I ticked just about every box here and only one on the hate poll.

If only people would read the posts instead of mindlessly screaming in rage about nothing. Still, it explains a lot about the current state of the forums.

I love that it let's me roam the galaxy and find places like this:

I hate that there is no time compression because of multiplayer. It would be even better if I could see the planets and stars move around in systems.

Hmm, I did the "Hate" poll first.

Now I see these options are just the inverse of the hate selections. Unfortunately, none of them really apply to why I like ED.

I love that there are no guarantees, that anything can happen.

I see that this post is sinking fast, unlike the 'Hate' pole, which I still think that the title of that Thread is totally inappropriate and just acts like a beacon to all the negatrons out there :( It does nothing to help the image of this community. We don't need a stranger somehow proclaiming themselves to be some how an authority on what is wrong with ED by running these poles. What are they going to do with this collated data? Who are they going to send it to? What are they hoping the outcome will be of said poles?
.
They seem to be poles for the sake of poles? No real purpose to be fair. All the issues have been raked over soooooooo many times its soul destroying, and here we are again, get out your pitch forks lets complain about this stuff all over again.
.
BUT at least the OP has done this pole in contrast, but again does it really serve any purpose? The options are just the opposite of the 'Hate' thread and I get the feeling they're almost done in a sarcastic way, as if the OP is hoping it still brings out the trolls. (I could be reading too much into that though) ;)
.
Any way I do 'LOVE' Elite Dangerous and think its great. I love the control schemes, I love the graphics, I love the mechanics, its freaking ELITE brought into the 21st Century!! I love the Trading (even though the wannabe Gekko's out there seem to think its all broke), I love the combat, I love the ship designs..... I love it. :) Did I say I love it?

Can I just say that from my perspective:

Background simulation system is amazing and is working great

Background simulation system is amazing, but isn't working great.

The game is difficult and challenging, and ship's destruction really hurts, as it should be

The game isn't difficult and challenging, but ship's destruction really hurts.

Well, ED is everything I wanted and then some. Not many boxes I didn't care to tick. And the prospect of more goodness to come is just the cream on the DBs.

I will have a crack at the hater's poll though.
