A quick search brings up this if you need the drivers

Ah youve found the drivers ignor tha then

Everybody wants to install that 'windows driver utility' thing...yea, found it and it works, sort of.
I'm confused how to use thrusts plus normal modes on one stick.

I can twist and move the stick fire etc but if I wanted to land, how would I go about using the stick to thrust? Is there a profile I need?

Do yourself a favor and just buy a Thrustmaster T16000M. It's cheap and reliable. And it's just perfect for ED. Only negative about it is the light. Kind of annoying at night.

I see the pic of that stick. Safe to say the 6 buttons on it, 4 would be used for thrusters? If so, I think its more comfortable to use my KB for thrusts with this current stick. Awkward pushing stick left and thumb right, for instance.
Like I mentioned, I never used a stick and wondering what the 'universal' setup would look like...without those extra buttons on the thrustmaster. Are most people using hat switches or separate KB(or thrustmasters).

I haven't tried combat with this yet but it is fun just flying around outside a station getting used to controls.

I used to have the Hat switch as my camera look on games a while back. But after playing more recent games with it, decided to with strafes on the hat. Its actually kinda easy to use once you practice a bit. As you said though a little awkward at times and when your not used to it much.

I use the buttons up on the stick top for targeting commands, as these are normally the most important for me in combat so need to have then easy to reach.

I have the ST290 and find it works well either with the generic windows drivers or the Saitek ones. I have my stick configured so that the trigger (button 1) is primary fire, button two is secondary fire, buttons 3,4,5,6 I use for the thrusters and the hat switch for the power distributor. the twist grip is set to yaw and the rear control for engines.

I find this set-up suits my play style, but it's definitely worth experimenting to see what suits you best!

Actually, it has 12 buttons on the base and 4 on the stick itself. Plus the coolie hat for thrusters. You can also switch the stick to suit you should you be left handed like myself.
