Loved the footage, and how the gameplay mechanisms were kind of hinted at. The Fed Cruiser requesting assistance, message popping up in the player's cockpit, they accept and hyperdrive to join the battle. If you were allied with the imps, you'd presumably have got a help request from the Imperial Cruiser instead.
Also, some awesome details, like the cockpit window frosting up as the ship prepares to jump, and then melting away as the auto-defrost function does its job. Just a thought, but it would be really cool if you started to get condensation if the atmosphere in the cockpit starts heating up...
One good thing about this footage is that it keeps me occupied until the Godus beta is released later today. I can just watch it on repeat. One bad thing is that the Godus beta is now by far the least exciting thing of the day.

Agreed, shame for Godus I was really looking forward to Beta but this has just blown it out of the water (or should that be space?). I can't stop watching it, it's just too cool

They did say that this was put together to allow the composer to showcase their work I would doubt very much the music will play in game at all times and like every other game released it will have options for turning off the music.
Absolutely brilliant, Though i really hope that DB changes his mind and will implement Oculus Rift support because those views around the cockpit cries out for it.
They are interested in supporting OR, but they want to finish game first. It could easily come as post-release patch.
mostly a lurker here but I have to compliment the team for this fantastic word. As many already said, it exceeded my expectations by far. I particularly appreciate the art direction and the "feel of flight", in the cockpit views I really get the impression of how flying a personal spacecraft would be like. The downside is that now it's even harder to wait for the beta
