Hardware & Technical CH products – peddles question

So I use a CH products setup, LOVE the throttle, LOVE the gentle but sensitive stick and LOVE the software.

Not liking the peddles that much, I find them way to close to each and the angle my feet has to reset at seems too high :( Seems closer to 45 degrees.

I really like using YAW in Elite, in combat, into rolls, or for even landing (especially in my Lakon-7).

After 2 hour play sessions my left foot specifically is crapped up and not happy.

I tried mitigating the issue by making a little platform for the peddles to tilt them the other way to reduce the incline my feet has to rest at … which helps, but raises the whole thing to much.

I’ve also tried moving the YAW to the toes of the peddles … but same issue.

So overall I find them just quite uncomfortable. I am a relative big dude, very stocky build (ex rugby prop legs) ... these peddles seems to be made for kids/very skinny people/or Asians :)

I really like having YAW in game … not sure if I want to start doing software YAW on roll, not liking that idea :(

Anyone else with CH products peddles that have similar issues? I think hoping they will change the product to be more ergonomic is dreaming, their product have not change really over the years.

Anyone else maybe using other peddles with the CH product setup? Any software conflict issues running different types of peddles with CH products HOTAS?

Any advice welcome.

I was using CH pedals for the longest time, so long in fact, that mine still have a gameport connection, as there was no USB when I bought them. But when I changed from the Cougar to the Warthog I had to make a decision: keep them and try to get hold of a gameport>USB conversion kit or get new ones. I went the lazy route and got me the Saitek Pro pedals, which have been serving me very well indeed (had them 2 years now, I think). They are much more comfortable to use, as the footrests are spaced apart quite a bit farther than on the CH pedals.

Cheers for the input guys.

My chair does not lower more :( ... I may steal my wife's chair and see if hers goes lower. That would be the another option, pushing the peddles out some and lowering the chair will alleviate the angle issue.

Its mostly the bridge (oddly only) my left foot that bugs me after extended play.

I let my feet also overhand and to the sides on long hauls (harley style), because I tire of trying to keep my legs together on the narrow peddles.

The Saitek Pro pedals have also caught my eye ... they seem wider apart and the reviews don't look too bad. Some complain about quality or them getting stuck. I would hate buying another set of peddles and end up not to like them too. Choices, choices :(

@KillaALF Would you say the Saitek Pro pedals are also more flat compared to the CH peddles?

There are some crazy nice all metal peddles out there like these http://mfg.simundza.com/mfgcrosswind.php but they are out of my price range (the wife my raise an eyebrow if I bought those).

I'll have to say that I use the pedals mostly in combat and for landing, during SC I normally take my feet off them and just nudge them with my toes for minor corrections.

So far mine seem to hold up quite well (knocks on wood), no complaints. What do you mean by "flat"? The angle of the pedals? I believe they are comparable to the CH ones, but I can't really tell - mine are in a box somewhere in the attic.

Correct, the angle ... the angle on the CH peddles seems a bit more, say than what its like in a car. Maybe I am imagining it.

No, I think you're right, judging from your picture - but it is not really much, I'd say maybe 5° or so.
