I killed the VP of the federation. I was invited over for a midnight swim. Things got out of hand and he got a little grabby. I excused myself and poisoned his drink.

Don't be naive, they cut the vid feed. That's not the VP's body, it's a mind blank clone, vat grown and decanted to cover the real VP's retreat into hiding. The Shadow Prez has some shady excreta planned, so the VP is in full stealth mode in case anything happens to Halsey.

Same old stuff as happened in 2582, politics as usual.
