My only point is that when using a Rift that comm area in the top left is pretty invisible and us VR pioneers aren't ignoring you when we don't answer, we are just blissfully unaware that you are trying to ramble at us

Goon has been seen in just about every game i've played. Whether GOON SQUAD, Goonswarm or what have you. Obviously there is some type of Organization there to have such a vast community. Trolls are in every clan and have been called a troll myself. But to destroy ones community based on a single players performance or behavior isnt right. However you conduct yourself either toward EG or any Clan associated with EG is solely personal, not communal.
If someone strolled past my home i'd like to think i'd notice they were on a public sidewalk before i leapt out of my house with a shotgun to be honest.
e: especially if - to extend this metaphor even further - my "home" was actually just a gas station i was filling my car and buying snacks at

It's almost like "goon" is actually a community with hundreds of thousands of members who have different interests, and play different games, and may actually want to form clans/guilds/fleets/whatever with each other, without any kind of formal or central leadership?

My bad. Sorry about that my fellow EG'ers.
I have to mention though - goons do see to be rather regimented from what I've seen. From some forums, members cannot post without "leadership" permission and pre-vetting of posts, orders have to be followed and particular tasks carried out, you have to meet certain daily minimums to meet some reqirement from higher up - or apparently you get booted and hunted down.
I have no direct experience myself, so maybe I have it all wrong - perhaps we could have some clarification?
Anyway - goons or any other group ganging up - it doesn't really matter in Elite. The game mechanics won't allow certain things to happen, so it's up to everyone to just fly as they want to and most importantly - have fun doing it.
