Increase rail gun ammo?

I enjoy using rails to hunt anacondas for the gratifying fun of this weapon, but 30 shots are a bit on the short side to do more than a couple before reloading

it would be nice to have 40/50 shots..

The projectile is whole lot faster than PA's.

Being hitscan is a huge advantage over plasma accelerators. You can be way more precise and from further away.

Yep Railguns suck as a PVE point of view. Insane expensive, hard to fit, low ammo.

30 is fine. It's enough for like seven or eight Anaconda if you have another weapon to help with the shields.

Hit scan is a huge deal, and rail guns also penetrate armor even better, making them the best subsystem killers in the game.

Only if you are willing to accept the increased weight and power requirements of an ammo storage and feed system.

fix the frag cannon to be a weapon someone would use before you look at increasing ammo for a popular weapon.

Yeah I noticed a lot of rails in loadouts last night - I was buzzing round Lave,Diso/Leesti looking for pirates but I check the loadout of every commander I scan as a matter of due diligence and was pretty surprised at the popularity of rails/racks and torpedo's.

Half tempted to build a 6 rail ASP for nostalgias sake.

Mind you i couldn't find a fight for hours last night, managed to interdict Pheyes but I was in my Python and he was in his MkIII and did a runner.

I think its a response to the general feeling of magic shield refill with shield cells.

Definitely this. A railgun can blow out someone's power plant from the wrong side of the ship.

I'm both wary of, and please at, the existence of so many railguns on hostile CMDRs.

I have to be careful, because one or two good hits can be very bad, but the limited endurance of the weapon is very much in my favor, as I still prefer an all laser loadout.

Yeah, they are pretty hard to hit with, I've been shot 3 times with them, must have dodged hundreds of shots.

Hurts when it hits though.
