My car has a reversing camera and have got to say while it was just a bit of a gadget to start with it works very well.
Wouldn't be nice if we could also see if something was in the way when reversing in a ship or perhaps to see if someone is following us. Judging by this poor chap in a T9 last night I think he would have wished for a couple of side cameras well as it took him about 5 minutes of manoeuvring to get himself out of the letterbox.

In my car I can see how wide it is and roughly how long it is but I have to admit in the Cobra I have not much of a clue what I am going to hit or miss. Seeing other ships going in & out of the letterbox it looks as if I have plenty of room but it does not feel like it. I did manage to squeze past the T9 above before I got vaporised for loitering so my ship must be quite small but some of the other big bar stewards that come at speed through the centre of the letterbox have occasionally wiped out my shields. Would be nice to be able to see our extremities and avoid some of these. Perhaps some of the larger ships would then realise they don't need to go through the middle as well.
So could we call up some external views on the right screen perhaps. Would complement an external drone view nicely
