Griefer at Altair, Solo Orbiter station, INSIDE the station griefing...

1. I dunno... damage is damage....

Collision damage for example does not cause AI to aggro.

2. Careful on how this might work. What's gonna happen if a smuggler gets scanned just before entering the station? They acquire Wanted status and their docking privs get revoked just as they enter a station?

Leave the vicinity of the station, come back and try to sneak in without being scanned. If the cops know on what pad you plan docking with its wouldnt be safe to dock anyway.

Out of curiosity, can PDT shots actually deal damage to anything except missiles? I'm sure it would be miniscule, but if stray shots hit your ship, does it actually do anything?

Crimes that would justify Outlaw status would be kills in station or in no-fire-zone and that includes ramming ships to death in the toaster
Flying near all time an 'conda i object to that, I am in no way responsible for suicide on 'conda, I keep below 50 clicks and every splat is therefore not my doing.

Completely ridiculous and is against everything that FD stands for. They've said that they encourage bad guys, and bad guy roles, and psycho killings. Anything in your post will never, ever happen. Go to solo, and never come back.

So now ED stands for psycho killers in spaceships. It is kinda the core idea of the game. Or was it always the core idea of Elite :psycho Killer Commander: ????
Maybe the next titel will be named "Elite PKC !!!!!!1!!!!!!111!!!!!"

(Yes i am making fun about you)

No, the dev said bad guys, not gankers who exploit every possible way to blow up ships in space stations or random kill players.
This would be the first mmo where the broad playerbase sees it as an fun feature of the game.
Exept offcourse you aim at having only 100 hardcore pvp players in open and all the others having fun in groups, then you are right offcourse.
Because deny it as much as you want, you will be annoyed that other players have fun where you can not reach them

Here's how it works:
1. Request docking
2. Fire a missile at the target
3. Target's point defense shoots the missiles, hitting your ship in the process
4. Now the target has a bounty on its head
5. Dock before station can kill you, now target gets blown up by the station.

I think this exploit is brilliant. Demonstrates lack of testing by FD very well.

SURELY, you get at least a WANTED status if not a full on Fugitive Status for firing a missile inside a station, Surely if you do this and then land then they arrest you and confiscate your ship ?

IF NOT then WHY NOT ?

Back on the actual topic...

I wonder if the missile itself is considered a clean ship and the point defence hitting this "clean ship" is triggering the player getting wanted and the station identifying the player as the unwarranted aggressor.

Guy's let's stop the sniping at each other and look at the issue.
I'm a Beta backer and have been playing since early Nov. I don't have a type 6 yet, but I have been enjoying my slow steady progression. I would be pretty pi**ed if a player put me back to square one in 15 min inside the relative safety of the station.
I think FD would like people to play open but if they let this behavior go unpunished they will have a game where they will have solo or groups only. Personally I like the idea of open and pvp interaction which makes for an exciting game experience, but again targeting a player over and over again just to bankrupt them is griefing, and should not be tolerated

Completely overblown thread. Its one player in one instance. I've been in and out of Altair a lot today, not seen one example of this at all. Does this players actions suck and take the proverbial? Absolutely, so report them to the developers for action. But a 12 page thread? Its not that big of a deal.

I would call it exploiting a bug, which is apparently a big deal when someone gets a lot of money from it at least.

Its not a bug. PDT shoots bullets, bullets cause crimes. If FD says "PDT dont cause crimes anymore guys", and they still do, then that's a bug.

Your opinion is fair enough. So what is your solution, then, for having a 5 million credit bounty in all Federation space with the intention of having a similar number in both Empire and Alliance? Simply never dock at 80% of the stations in the galaxy? What about smuggling?

You should be able to run. Provided you didn't make any outright fatal mistakes anyway, like letting a scan finish while surrounded by authority vipers and close enough to the toaster rack to hang your laundry on it.

You're intentionally making yourself persona non-grata all over the galaxy so I honestly don't know why you'd be expecting a warm welcome on the landing pad. If you've got bounties all over the galaxy as a flamboyant and unrepentant scofflaw, being chased off to anarchy systems or the independents you haven't cheesed off seems a perfectly reasonable outcome.

I dont think it demonstrates lack of testing.

More like a touching naivity. They... like me, probaly never thought that anyone would WANT to do this in a million years.
There are some seriously psychopathic, (or maybe sociopathic), people playing this game.
